3 from the north is very disappointing , we get more at the get togethers here at Penguin and preservation bay .

That's a real kick in the guts for the blokes fom TassieSUP and all the work they have put into this

Hopefully it will be a great weekend and won't be the last SUP comp we have over here .

Only early days for the sport in Tassie Tassiedevil . I'm sure a good weekend will be had by all looking at the forecast!!

Yep BYO , suggest everyone brings own plastic plates , plastic knives forks for easy clean up .

I think there are 3 BBQs which we can move to one area

As Cruisen says .. it's challenging

Other reports from guys who went looking
for a dumbed down .. around the corner break
said .. It's cold .. it's big .. it's wind effected ..
and there's nothing around the corner .. but
they are gunna check the St Helens barway
tomorrow .. it will definately be protected but
will the swell wrap around .. stay tuned.

So the analysis is: the wind is a bit too southerly
but is expected to vier more to the west tomorrow.
So therefore more offshore and the swell will
gradually, over the next four days, subside.

Couldn't be better

There are a lot of options around the
Scamander area.

The nights and mornings are gunna be freezing.

This contest is gunna be epic

Could be worse, you could be in Fiji with water temps of 28 degrees, sun shine, clear water, sunshine etc

Also if everyone happy I will photograph event (Im a photographer by day !!) and supply reports to the papers with images, Chat to you guys about that there. Advocate keen and have good contacts at both Mercury and Examiner, Cheers

Also really hanging to get a mal' surf on a new Bic that Jules is bringing up for the weekend - haven't surfed the dark side for a coupla years and stoked about getting back on a longboard.
Gunna be a sic weekend of sup'ing, longboarding, eating, drinking and hanging out with Australias best, and friendliest surfers.

with the forecast really really really tempted to bring the longboards and leave the SUP at home

however after enquiry with the committee have been advised longboards are only allowed in the comp if the user has a paddle in his hand

Bring the longboards TD - If my old body will take it, I'll be out on one for sure.
