An 8' 11" lithium , must be closer to the camera to look longer than the Fanatics . The red one is an 8'3" custom I think.

Does anyone have an 8 5 Nitro I could try in Tassie?

Sounds like a lot of coreban pimping going on seabreeze at the moment, if you the australian coreban rep as you say on your profile why don't you just send a demo board to one of your dealers down here for you to demo ?

The new fanatic boards actually look pretty good , im a big fan of pintails!for race boards!Had a look at the new 14 fanatic and it looks like a combination of speed , stability and allroundess , yet to see the price though! Souns like billboard you have a grudge against Fanatic for one reason or another. Results speak for themselves!Affordability is the key , with race boars getting into the multiple of thousands of dollars is an absolute joke and will ultimatley stimey participation , which is exactly what a new sport needs , be very aware of elitism.

I have no grudge against any surfing sups at all and we are very lucky down here that we dont have racing sups ruining our surf breaks, so I guess I also have no current grudges against racing sups either.

Nope ! No anti-any brand in particular from me

Oh - whats with the "elitism" thing ?

Racing sups dont ruin surf breaks mate , expecially in Tassie! The eletism thing is what happens in most fledging sports , equipment becomes out of reach of the average punter and it becomes elitist , like polo for example , for this sport to continue thriving it needs to engage the young not crusty old demons It nees to be affordable for families , how many families do you now that can buy there kid a $3,000 race board or for that matter a $$1,500 surf sup?Grass roots mate , every thing develops form that!

Have received a lot of constructive advise
related to improving this event for the future ..
and it has all been taken on board ..
and some of it will be incoorporated for sure.

Thanks to those who contributed.

We're still open for suggestions but this is
where our thinking is:

# Because it is the TAS Winter Classic it will always be
staged in winter in Tas.
# Other events may well be organised for the
summer and other events may be be used for
State selection.
# Next year's comp location may be on the East
Coast between Scamander and Nubeena. The
exact location not to be divolged until a few days
prior .. awaiting weather and wave forecasts.
We feel that this idea would work because it
ensures the best waves and at that time of the
year accomodation is assured at all locations.
# Once again it will be run under the umbrella
of Surfing TAS .. They have crew on the ground
and insurance.
# A propper surf BOP event will be included as well
as a surfboard race and demmo day.
# One entry fee will cover any or all events.

Something to chew over SUPpers .. and we look
forward to your further contributions .. it's your event.

also give you better wave selection.

For those that have been waiting on their t shirts, the printer had a small delay, but your shirts will be sent out this week, we would also like to thank those that purchased extra shirts as the small profit that we made from them went to help cover some of the costs incurred.
