For those that aren't just into racing these are pretty good wind sup boards. I'm hoping to sail over to box head from Palm Beach on Sunday. PM me if your interested. Steve

When you say windsup - do you mean light air in waves ?

Yes. Though the wind doesn't have to be that light.

Anyone interested in a LT/One Design event at Harwood on the Clarence River in northern NSW on November 17 and 18? We could join in with the Bridge to Breakers, a 12 mile (approx) marathon on the Saturday followed by three short races on the Sunday. I can bring a One Design if anyone wants to borrow one.

Hey Chris,
would love to join this and will consider, however I organised an event at Marmong Point on Sunday so must be there for that. I'm sure Neil will be there and perhaps our mutual friend Michael on his new LT.
HOW MUCH IS ENTRY FOR RACE? If I can find someone else down here to go with and share fuel I may do the dash! Al

Getting back into it with the LT - I'm about 5' 8" - what would be good all round harness line length ? For seat harness

I sailed for 20 years in the same wild winds seat harness, no pain, no catapults, fit like a glove, loved it and then it died. The last 5 years i have tried a number of seat and waist alternatives and never been quite comfortable. I have settled on an ION Radius waist harness at the moment. great harness, but Im not 100% comfortable in a waist harness, you really cant wear a bouyancy vest, even a NP high hook vest ends up around your ears and they arent as easy on an old mans back. My advice, try on every harness in the shop and a few on the water

My son and I took our LT for its maiden voyage today.

when we got to the beach it was picture perfect but dead calm. So son went supping on his WOD while i rigged our sails. he's on a 3m severne xs-3 and i'm on the 6m class sail.

after half hour or so a few puffs started coming through. We were mucking around, doing basic freestyle. and playing smash up derbies.

half hour later it was 5-10 and the sails had more pressure so we raced each other upwind and downwind. out around moored boats and back. Then he hopped up front and we went blasting with him on the nose. always great fun!

we were about to loose the rigs and go supping again through the mangroves when a 15-20 knot change came through. forgetting about supping we went blasting fully powered with no straps and no harnesses.

windsurfing is meant to be fun and today was fun.

Any suggestions for board bags given the board is epoxy and not as robust as original ?

Also my booties dont grip grip on the side deck - anyone recommend booties that grip ?

2 days back to back with the lt, wod and son.
Yesterday 5-10. Some attempts at course racing with other wally sailors and a freestyle session.

latest trick being worked on is back to sail, backwinded, clew first.
the day was finished sailing downwind sitting on the boards

today was 10-15. Good blasting weather for us..

classic LT day today. The board loves to blast and is so smooth on chop.

we finish up with fish n chips on the beach.

today for the first time ever I saw another lt at my local being ridden by someone who is not in the usual crew.

Windgenuity have a prolimit 12'6" X 26" SUP bag which is a perfect fit, heavy duty and plenty of carry handles.

Hi. I picked my LT up a month or so back. Due to injury I haven't sailed it yet. Playing around with it today - what's the Phillips head bolt for that come in the zip lock deal-bag? Does it go into the hole just ahead of the mast track? What's the purpose?

Excuse the silly question. My last board is an 80s fathead OD.

sounds like the bung. Yes put it in so your board doesnt fill up with water. Undo after your session so the pressure inside can equalize. Happy days

Reminder: Breather plugs and and other tips
The foam in the WS LT is styrene, the shape is blown in a mold and ends up with an impervious skin on it so water cannot get in unless you have a major collision that goes through the glass fiber and punctures the skin of the foam. When repairing the skin only use epoxy resin ( not polyester resin).

When the boards get hot the gases in the styrene expand, which can lead to delamination.
By hot I mean over 60C, so as an example, inside a van on a 40C day .

If you don't let the board get hot, you should just screw in the breather plug tight and never open it. If you have to open it, never put it away wet in a board bag as it will suck in the water

Hi, Thanks for this great news here about the Windsurfer LT.
I am curious about the weight of this board, and I looked through most of the pages here, and didn't see if any of you have actually weighed your board on a calibrated scale?
I know that "they say" it's 15kg... but I've had bad luck with boards from Cobra in the past... so I'd like to know if you all are "checking" to see how close your board is to the specs. Also I know that the board weight specs will be taken with a "bare board"... no daggerboard or fin. If I buy one I will weigh it bare"... and I hope it is 15 kg (or very close).
Thanks for any info, Greg :)
