Hi. I picked my LT up a month or so back. Due to injury I haven't sailed it yet. Playing around with it today - what's the Phillips head bolt for that come in the zip lock deal-bag? Does it go into the hole just ahead of the mast track? What's the purpose?
Excuse the silly question. My last board is an 80s fathead OD.
sounds like the bung. Yes put it in so your board doesnt fill up with water. Undo after your session so the pressure inside can equalize. Happy days
Reminder: Breather plugs and and other tips
The foam in the WS LT is styrene, the shape is blown in a mold and ends up with an impervious skin on it so water cannot get in unless you have a major collision that goes through the glass fiber and punctures the skin of the foam. When repairing the skin only use epoxy resin ( not polyester resin).
When the boards get hot the gases in the styrene expand, which can lead to delamination.
By hot I mean over 60C, so as an example, inside a van on a 40C day .
If you don't let the board get hot, you should just screw in the breather plug tight and never open it. If you have to open it, never put it away wet in a board bag as it will suck in the water
