We could ask the race committee for 1 race with all classes together and stagger the starts like they do in WAGS races, The slowest boats off first so everyone converges on the finish line together.

Not as part of a title, just one race for fun.

Three different classes racing at the same time, I expect there will be a bit of fighting through other boards anyway.

I think the bottom marker will be in about 6 inches of water. The wallys will enjoy watching the carnage of the other classes as they gybe and power on! Lol! A few catapults back to the campsite where you can watch the brilliance and simplicity of the Original Windsurfer!

seriously though, the wallys are not confirmed at Myall Lakes yet. The executive are looking into it and have not committed as yet.

The Raceboard and Formula classes have chosen to hold their National Championship's at the same time same place. Great because it brings everyone together just means some of us who like both classes have to decide which one to sail. Based on what Alby said above the wallies are still to decide.

If another class wanted to join in, I guess they would need to speak to the regatta organiser's and make a request. I am guessing your thinking of a D2 class. Whilst that would be cool I suspect many sailors on either RB or Formula would have to make a choice between D2 and the other classes as well.

I would be keen on a D2 regatta but at a different time so I am not forced to choose.

Me too. The other alternative is to bring our D2s and have a one-day regatta after the nationals for other classes.

You guys won't have time for lunch, you will be to busy just trying to get all your equipment assembled, and then you will have to decide on what sail to use.

I just watched a short video of the regatta posted by the Windsurfer Class Association of Australia. It did look like the good old days of floundering around, trying to pump, while lightweights glided past. It just reinforced why I no longer sail a wally

As Neve said, they race in weight divisions so you can't blame weight for speed issues. I find One Designs to be less weight sensitive than Raceboards.

I'm so happy you found a class that is not weight sensitive
The new windsurfer Lt has more volume , you should try it.
maybe windsurfer Inc should send a windsurfer Lt to the windsurfer centre of excellence ?

I've found my niche in the GPSTC and am very happy.
