I posted this a week ago. I would have thought someone from Wally inc. would have used the forum to update and explain the issue as well as reassure that a solution is forthcoming.
My point windsuffering was that when a production run is in progress it isn't just the odd board that gets the wrong screw
insert material, they
all do.
The inserts for the centreboard cover and centreboard flaps need replacing as they may leak.
I've had my board out several dozen times over a few months and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't leaked and it was in the first batch off the production line. However, it's good to see the manufacturer being proactive and making sure all the boards are ok as obviously there is one or more affected. The vast majority are yet to hit the water so no major drama really. With the biggest production numbers of any windsurfer model this year I'm sure the class is far from doomed and if you find the time to hop on one for a ride once this issue is resolved, you may just decide it is a good allround versatile piece of kit to add to your quiver. If you don't no problem, you have the choice.
i saw your soggy grass post a week ago and had no idea what you were on about, now I know, don't be alarmed - I'm sure any boards out there will be repaired and all new ones from the factory will be better than ever with only a minor repair required that is behind the covers and out of sight.
im guessing Wally inc are busy getting things resolved and notifying their customers directly and not through forums.
im pretty sure all customers are very happy with the new board and will continue to be loyal to the brand that started it all. Windsurfer!
