Guitz, if there is anyway you could leave it unpainted, (says he who doesn't have to maintain it). It seems almost sacrilegious to paint over that! Great effort! Thx for the link on the Tallawood, I read it can be used as mallet heads and for bearings! Tough enough!
Andy, the 24 knots video was taken apparently with the boat in cruiser mode (fair bit on board), with 2 reefs and gennaker, no kite

. Bit suss on the gps calibration, but 20+ should be achievable.
It shows to me what is possible when someone designs a boat to be efficient, not to suit a handicap rule. I enjoy handicap racing but I do think IRC has caused all the manufacturers to build slow boats, something that neither a cruising or a racing sailor want. I like cruising as much as racing, but if I can cruise at 15 knots instead of 6 I'll take it!
