Sounds good to me.

I was just down in Inverloch and the swell was as big as the wind. Found an excellent cove - Eagles Nest - protected from the howling South West winds and the conditions down there were almost glassy with clean chest high waves this morning. But unfortunately, my arms were like jelly and had very little strength after paddling down there for the past three days.

I did a great downwinder paddle with JohnathanC at Walkerville and got a warning from two water police on jet skis, who wanted to bring us down, but couldn't figure out what to do with us. Also met up with Alex, who made my board, at 5:00am yesterday while checking out the conditions, which was a very strange coincidence.

Eagles Nest is a great right hander and is glassy in the most rediculous SW'ers.
I've paddled and surfed there many times and always got good waves. Ideal conditions would be 6 to 8+ft on the beachies, wind from NW through to SW and anything deeper than mid tide. Low tide is no good. Usually no crouds, 4 to 6 guys max.

I suggest checking it out sometime. Tomorrow from about 1pm should be ok.

I went out to Eagle Nest this morning at 6:00am and yesterday at 6:00am and again at 4:00pm and there were 3 people out. It's a great break when the swell is big in anything but low tide - rocks become a bit of an issue then. It's amazing how sheltered it is there - it must have been blowing around 30 - 40 knots the last couple of days and yet it felt still down there. I dropped by there for a looksee about midday yesterday and there were around 20 - 30 people out. I guess this is holiday season though.

The scariest part for me was pulling my board off and putting it back on the roof racks in the wind.

What time/beach for Torquay on Sat are you thinking - I'm really liking the real early morning sessions at the moment? It feels so good snuggling back into bed with sore arms/body for a few hours when it's all over. Kind of reminds me of when I used to go diving in Cape Shank during winter, I didn't know what was better: the diving or the sausage roll I'd get on the way home.

Super high tide around 5am with an average low tide around 11am.

Swell forecast has updated and looking slightly larger for Saturday now. Still smallish but looking better. Swellnet saying light northerly wind first thing but I can't see this happening. I'm thinking it will be left over light onshore.

So where to surf, Rich what you rekon?
I was thinking of a few possibilities maybe:
- A beachie up the Torquay end of 13th - to be different and probably less crowd
- Super tubes/drainos as we will have it to ourselves (SUP's that is)
- What about a beachie at Aireys. Again we could pick a bank of slightly lesser quality with no-one on it

Anyway we'll see what the swell does and go from there. Make a call Friday

Hi Guy's ,

Sorry for the delay it crazy here.

It's so busy down here in Torquay this time of year , Bells yesterday was all time classic postcard stuff 4-6 foot perfection!!

No Matter where we paddle it's hard to avoid the crowds , Low tide is 10.30am Sat
so suggest Torquay Point , or if there is more swell cosy corner has been fun small waves lately.....think we just work it out on the day .

Let's all meet at Point Danger Carpark again so DJ , Brenno & Oliver let us know what time works for you as you guy's have the drive down from Melbourne ....im keen anytime !

Looking forward to paddle the glide and Olivers timber decked Stoker , Brenno bring your camera!

Will have a better idea where to paddle Friday so will let you know.

Lummers are you around Sat morning ??

speak soon,
Rich

Thanks Rich.. I reckon the earlier the better with low tide at 10.30.

How about we aim for 7.30am meeting at the point and we play it by ear from there.

I'll bring my 11'4" Naish and the new Naish Glide for you guys to have a go of so Pt Danger would be a good location for a bit of both.

Swell, wind and weather are all looking good for tomorrow morning.

So are the Melbournites meeting at 6:00am in St Kilda? No need to create a bigger carbon footprint - I'm happy to drive us all down. I know you have to be at work DJ and I'm happy to be back in St Kilda by 1:00pm. Who else is heading down?

I will be down and Jamie my mate down there is keen as well. I might even head down tonight super late. I'll probably have to head back around 10:30am for another shindig.

Should be fun, I'm still sketchy on the wind but will see in the morning.

That's great Brendon, see you there. Sunday is looking good also, if the swell holds up and the wind is down... anyone up for a dawny down at Pines or Point Leo... High tide at 5:30am?

Sunday is looking good but swell won't be around for Leo. Flinders maybe, but probably only be waves on the open beaches.

I'm off to TQ now. See ya's in the morning. Hope this wind dies out and goes offshore!!!

Was a fun day in Torquay! Good to see a bunch of guys made the effort to get down there. Dave, Oliver, Ryan, Rich, Lumers, Jamie and a few others I forgot names and me.

Bummer the westerly got into the waves off the point which made for sketchy bumpy faces (worked me a couple times) but mini tubes was fun. You would have seen the GoPro on the water and here's the footage. It sure took a beating and the sucker held in there! Don't mind the track, it just fitted well with the length of footage (karate kid). If you have sound you can hear the camera taking a beating.

I tried filming Jamie on the same wave a couple times (behind me) but the fisheye lens really seems to put anything behind you right in the distance. I might try the head attachment next time.

Great vid thanks.. I like the little knees to feet move at 1.58.. and the two on the one wave bit worked well..

I think I saw myself just standing around in the background.. . Can't wait till the next one.

Cool Vid.

Was good to have a paddle with a group. It still amazes me how much fun it is riding these boards on little waves.

I'm going to head down towards Kilcunda or the Island way (to avoid the crowds) tomorrow around 10:30am. Should be down there a bit before 12pm.

I'm thinking of surfing Foots, a long left hander at the heads of San Remo. You have to paddle in about 800m to get to it which should be fun. Usually empty or 2 or 3 guys out due to it's remoteness.

If swell drops overnight though I will end up on the beachies at Kicunda or down the far left end of Woolamai (Magiclands) again to avoid crowds.

Anyone interested? I'll probably have a full car but happy to meet crew down there.

Myself and a mate are going to SUP at Lefts & Rights in Western Port on Sunday morning. We will be parking at The Pines (right at the end of the car park) and paddling up to L & R's which is about 1.5km. I rekon we will have it to ourselves. Looking at the swell forecast it should be around chest high on the sets. Perfect for L&R's.

We should get to Pines around 7:15am with the intention to start the paddle around 7:30am. We will probably get some waves along the way at Zapper Point and a couple other spots. Should be good little sight seeing tour for those that haven't done it before.

Wind, tide and swell is looking perfect. Those that are keen, post here and I'll reserve a spot in the line up for you! Get down there!

Good morning had! Ended up at Atlas (the left at the Pines) and Cam, MAtt & myself had it to ourselves for about an hour with 1 mini mal guy who was going right. It could have been a bit bigger but we all got plenty of fun waves.

Thanks for coming down Cammo!
