Under 60 I am not allowed / recommended to get AZ, but Pfizer is not available.

I wish i could only buy Pfizer on eBay or Amazon? I heard people overseas buy trip to US to get a shot at any pharmacy. $4000 for air ticket and $20 for the shot that could save your life.
Australia seems to be lagging behind third world in population vaccination.
But at least we have new tanks, military helicopters, submarines and missiles worth 220 bln dollars to protect as all !

I think that PM and government calculation is easy to understand.
By not vaccinating our 20 mln population government could save now instantly 300 mln dollars !! That means 2 more fighter jet that could protect closed sky over greater Sydney or limousines for all government stuff.But for creative thinking government there is another way.
They could release 100 doses weekly in every city and sell to higher bidder on the auction.

There is also another option, Since Donald Trump is actually unemployed we could hire him here for next 4 years to become our president and to organize Aussie Warp Speed vaccination here. I am happy to contribute $20 instantly

Ive had 2 AZ shots. Im only 40, got mine early as im a firefighter - apparently we are VIPs.

Most of my colleagues have had one or two AZ shots. I got mild symptoms after dose one only. Chills, nausea, body aches. but only mild and only for 2 or 3 hours, at about 3am. I went back to sleep, woke up at 7am and went for a surf straight up - it was pumping, got some of the best waves of my life :)

I was the only one of the 30 odd people i know who've had the vaxx that have had any symptoms.

I get a bit annoyed at people that dont want to 'risk' the vaxx. i figure they're either 1) really bad at maths, 2) complete pussies (scared of a sniffle), 3) completely sefish (dont want to do their bit to help the whole population). Or I guess 4) raving mad anti vaxx lunatics. or maybe just super gullible to social media BS!

I do hope at some stage there are rules in place to inconvienience the unvaxxinated. like - not allowed to attend school / get on flights / go out inpublic without a mask. (unless they cant have the vaxx due to a legit medical reason, of course.) They'll deserve the inconvinence for choosing to put the rest of the population at risk.

NSW has just adopted legislation that only those people who have received at least the first dose of COVID vaccination are allowed to work at airports within the state. This is sure to piss off the antivax brigade.

A guy I work with climbed Mount Everest, covid hit and he made it to India where his family is, he got covid he got better.
than the strain of covid changed and he decided to get vaccinated. He got vaccinated and was fine for weeks and weeks, around two months post vaccine he woke up with a headache and died on the way to the hospital from what I believe was a brain hemorage or similar.
This is a guy in his 30,s who had recently climbed Everest, had covid and got through it quite easily.

Please no conspiracies, real stories, real reports of yourself and/or those you know.

That has to be one of the worst anti vaccine story's I have heard. My take on your story goes like this.

A really fit guy that pushes his body to the limits. Ventures into the death zones of Everest. Then gets covid that can have long term side effects. Then during a pandemic in a third world heath care system that is overwhelmed he has a medical problem and dies from something?

Suggesting that it was the vaccine is a bit of a long shot. Maybe he had some skittles and a cold shower the night before and that's what killed him. There is no evidence of anything.

Not really an anti vaccine story just a friend/work colleague story and the possibility the vaccine may have contributed
In west oz I have no- one I know in my age group or near who has received it.

All the oldies have got the vaccine but many many of them held out and still have not got it.

I still have some concern over the vaccine and possible long term affects.... or delayed reactions..... am I an anti vaxxer ,,,,, no Not at all..
I actually tried to book myself and wife in on the government website today after reading all the comments on this thread.
we got an automated response saying nothing is available and they will be in contact when something is.....I strongly suspect there is no Pfizer available.

We should of had it available by now for everyone who wants to get it.
The governments had well over a year to secure supplies.

So in short I and my wife will be getting the vaccine, once we can once it's available once we can book in.

To be fair, and I don't like this government, they had to make an each-way bet on different options as no one knew which vaccines would be workable, plus they had to compete with other countries that also wanted first access to them.

The problems with Astrazenica have obviously thrown their numbers out, but yes, I agree, they should have done better and approached it as something to be on the front foot with instead of reluctantly doing it. Much like the need to build dedicated quarantine facilities. I would respect them if they stepped up from the beginning and announced them. The fact that they have reluctantly done so now means that I respect their decision, but it could have been earlier.

This seems to be a very difficult thing for this government to do. Go from being all about saving money in budgets, to needing to actively spend it to protect our lives and our economy. I certainly won't criticize their budgets based on the need for a Covid response.

I booked my vaccination today Razz, through the VaccinateWA site. Won't get it till mid August though... more time to see if I want to back out. You should be able to do the same, unless they don't need you around

Had my first Pfizer last week.
Felt a little drained the arvo of the next day. Day after that back to 100%. Slightly sore arm but no worse than any other jab.
Looking forward to the second to have it all done!

I felt even though I am low risk to Covid , it is our responsibility to help reduce the spread to protect those that can't be vaccinated for various health reasons. It's a shame the anti-vaxxers/ general morons will benefit from this protection, but oh well.
