Update I tried to book in for the vaccine again to get the same message.
my wife rang local doctors and they said try again in two weeks.
This is week 8 I think of trying to get first Pfizer vaccine now.
I did some quick maths and excellent we are apparently getting. A million doses, so with our population of the government does that 25-27 times we will all have our first dose......... so 25 more months till everyone has had the chance to get the first dose or 50 months to get the two......
Its not a matter anymore of people wanting/not wanting it .. it's availability...
The amount of the Pfizer vaccine coming in is going to increase over the next couple of months. I could look for the exact figures but I think it something like 3 million doses of month by October.
In the meantime, there is plenty of the Astrazeneca stuff available and anybody can have it. If you are scared of a very rare side-effect that can be treated, you must be absolutely terrified every time you go into the water knowing that there might be a shark about
Understand your point but risk mitigation is a basic survival instinct
if your having to take a drug or vaccine to return to normal life do you want the one with higher or lower risk.
Would you select the $3 pizza from a dodgy cart on a night out with your wife or the $30 one from a reputable wood fired pizza shop.
( AstraZeneca price versus Pfizer) now as someone who doesn't want to get food poisoning albeit the chance being low and also wanting something of better ingredients it is probable and likely that the chance of being sick or eating poor quality pizza increases with eating the $3 pizza.
considering the taxes I pay yearly I am certain the government can spring $60 for the two doses of Pfizer to ensure I stay healthy and keep paying my taxes for the next 30 years.
This isn't taking into account the cost of prior and current lockdowns on the economy.
