That sounds a bit conspiratorial to me

Maybe because Saddam's sons were pretty well universely hated for causing suffering to their own people whilst living in luxury and the west killing them could be seen as assisiting the Iraqi people (particularly the northern Iraqi people)

whilst Osama inspires people to commit crimes against the west and killing him could be seen as another western attack on Islam.

Also - one event occured under a far right wing president and administration lead by a person whose own father had been humilated by Saddam, whilst the second was under a left of centre president who could be argued to have higher moral standards than the former and under a US people who now more universally object to the wars in the middle east.

Ok but we have gotten to page 6 and tbh have we gotten anywhere? No.

The thread started off interesting then the same diatribe gets rolled out and we have heard it all before.

I believe there are things that are covered up ect and I have my own theories on 911 ect but I aint going to air them here.

But don't you think that this strategy is extremely high risk? like if OBL is still alive then all he has to do is make one of his excellent home movies and shazam! the President is shown to be a bare faced liar, no if's no buts. The photos that first emerged were proven to be fakes, put together by a conspiracy theorist and then swallowed whole by channel 9(i think). But there was going to be an invited viewing of the real photos at some stage and I assumed that would be enough. But really, when you think about it even if you give every C.T believer a guided tour of the photos, the DNA match, a interview with the soldiers, and anything else you can think of , it still wouldn't be enough for some people anyway.

Of course that'll be enough, but I won't hold my breath waiting for it. The point made by me, and a few others is precisely that absolutely nothing has been released. NO empirical evidence what-so-ever has yet been released!!

It's a bit hard to come up with empirical evidence that would carry any more weight than what we have.
You have to look at the consequences of being caught out in a lie, and if it is a lie then you need to count how many people know it's a lie because for each person that knows, the probability of getting away with it halves.
So if 40 people went in on the operation then straight off, the chance of getting away with it if it's a lie is miniscule.
I think Obama is a LOT smarter than that.

I do remember that all through the 50's and 60's there was a lot of talk that adolf hitler was alive and well and living in South America somewhere.
Numerous experts came up with with numerous theories and proofs that he was still alive.
They were all bovine excrement.

Almost nobody in Iraq liked Saddam Hussein, and most importantly, the vast majority of the muslim population didn't like him.
It was clear that the public capture, trial and execution of Hussein would make far more friends than enemies.

The same cannot be said for o.b.l.
There are many people all over the muslim world who saw him as a hero and millions more who have considerable respect for him.
In all probability, in some parts of the world, the public capture, trial and execution of o.b.l. would make far more enemies than friends.

Well - perhaps he is the new messiah - I know you gonna disgaree but hear me out :

The similarity with Jesus is uncanny - a prophet hailed by a small group of his own people - at first ignored and even assisted by the empirical power, then rejected and persecuted by the empire and finally executed, only to rise again.

Then the similarity with Mohammed is also pretty close : raised as a second son of a wealthy trading family, eventually rejected and outcast, searching for his own way in life, lives in a cave, gathers a following and wages war on the imperialist establishment, only to gain a following who then argue and split following his death.

Now, when people at the time claimed each one was sent by God to deliver the world from itself they were ridiculed and red thumbed. 2,000 years later their people had taken over the world.

Perhaps it is about time you all converted ? Maybe I should write a book - The gospel according to Carantoc.
