That said, shooting an unarmed man to avoid having the complexity of a trial is a pretty poor justification. There would have been an opportunity to find the moral high ground.

How do we know that? They say he was reaching for a weapon and I cannot believe that OBL would not have had an AK47 in reach most of the time.

technically we don't know that. We don't really know anything do we.

I was supposing that a team of navy seals may have been able to take an old guy with kidney failure (from when the CIA tried and failed to poison him) hostage alive... and if they could have taken him alive then it would have been a possible way to take the moral high ground.

Your sword argument could apply to Obama (as ultimate head of the US armed forces), what if he was killed by Afghani forces who said "those who live by the sword also die by the sword"

Any one who has a sword can kill anyone else who has a sword regardless?

so if the cameras were not working, why the look of concern on Obama and his fellow cronies in the photo?

Peter could you spell out what you believe happened... being careful to observe all of the information that may not match your hypothesis

I have a conspiracy theory

Megatron was buried at sea. Osama was buried at sea. Obama knew it was going to happen when he performed this address....

Obama produced a video with a transformer (0:44) in it... the day before

Yeah, cos it is so damn easy to fit small cameras to guys who are already carrying 40kg of gear, whilst they run around in half darkness, shooting.....and still have the camera transmit a beautiful feed to a repeater / booster, then to a satellite, then to the other side of the world.
When you perfect that system to provide images that look like the movies, just to satisy your curiosity as to whether they told the truth, let the military know because I am sure you will make heaps of money selling the camera system to them.

A snapshot of the pollies and military commanders in a room is a moment in time and does not convey feelings or thoughts. But even if it does and they are "concerned" could it not be just the radio comm's they are hearing make them afraid for their troops? Why must it mean the cameras were working and now they are hiding the footage? Maybe somebody farted FFS! There are many reasons but you only state the one that fits your preconceived hypothesis!

Anyone who has not read the mountains of intel reports on Al Quaida, or been shot at in combat, can leave their opinions in their own head and stop posting drivel here.
But then the thread would be gone wouldn't it.....

More drivel....

The way the story has been changed over time does not inspire confidence about what actually happened there. Firstly Osama fought back, then his wife was a human shield, then he was unarmed, then she was the one who fought back. They can't seem to get their story straight and in the end it reads like it was an execution.

The picture of Hilary gasping for breath and Obama sternly looking at the screen does not really mean that much. It would mean more if we knew what they had been looking at or smelling.

The way the US military disposed of the evidence because they respect Muslim burial practice. Was it meant to be a joke? The American armed forces have killed many thousands of Muslims over the last ten years and this is the first time we have heard about them respecting Muslim burial practices. Probably they usually leave the bodies where they fall for dogs and other scavengers to eat.

Its also strange how the Americans seem so happy now he is dead as its revenge for the 11th of September 2001 attacks. As far as I was aware all those who took part in the attacks also died on that day. What did Bin Ladin have to do with it? He repeatibly denied any involvement with the attacks. He took responsibility for the earlier attacks on American embassies in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole. So its not as if he doesn't have American blood on his hands, but not the blood from the biggest terrorist attack.

I find all this hard to believe.
I find there is little evidence to say he is dead.

Are you convinced yet rellie?

Numerous headlines in lots of papers;-
"Al-Qaeda confirms bin Laden's death, vows retaliation"

"Group pledges it will survive loss of leader"

If not it means Al Qaeda is in on the conspiracy.
I think even a conspiracy fanatic would choke on that one.
Well,.. looking back at what else they can swallow, maybe not.

do you genuinely believe these news reports of al.q or do you want to believe these news reports pweedas?

a bit like the pentagon where they come out with reports that DNA of 86 of 87 passengers has been confirmed.

or reports of giant jet aircraft flying low over Washington then hitting the outer wall of pentagon.

there is a 3 letter word for these reports.

Dick Cheney was ceo of Halyburton, a military contractor, ripping hundreds of millions of dollars of U.S taxpayers.

can you see the motivation to create a bogeyman for profit?

Yes Pweet, I will believe these news reports and give them about a 95% and rising probability of being correct. Maybe not in every tiny detail but the main gist of the report will be correct.

The reason is that it would be much more in Al Qaeda's best interests to report another epic failure on americas part and say that he is still alive and well and living in some hole somewhere else, and that america shot some poor innocent coffee trader in his own bedroom.
However, even AQ. have seen this claim would be so easily shot down by the release of critical information on the matter and they would then be made to look like total tossers.
Thus they have conceded to accept the matter as reported.

Some others may choose not to because they refuse to accept the truth of a matter regardless of all and any logic or proof.

Not only that, since half the Pakistani military are probably Al Qaeda sympathisers they would have got immediate confirmation from them so on their part it would be pointless to report otherwise.

But anyway, I'm sure there's still enough room to develop a good conspiracy in there somewhere I so await the next instalment.

if you are so inclined pweedas to believe the news reports, then what is your response to U.S General Wesley Clark.

'there is no question that the presence of petroleum throughout the region[middle east]has sparked great power involvement.'

had a game of tennis this afternoon with my non-matrix friend.

ended up playing my friends friend.[fully in the matrix]

afterwards us two non-believers got into a half hour debate about 911 and the pharma cartel.

honestly, sometimes i don't know why i even bother.

no matter what evidence is presented to him,it's always just a theory.

never a fact.

he has watched the doco's, but still believes not as theory, but as fact that obl did it!

I completely agree. There is no doubt that western powers have for a long time had a big involvement in the middle east.
But that's a big step away from saying they are responsible for everything that goes wrong there and that they are responsible for flying planes into their own city buildings.

Poor bugger was probably thinking the same thing, and no doubt thinks that you are a bit liberal with the use of the word "evidence".

Out of inteterest Pm, are there any ct's out there that you think are a load of baloney?

Seems like some people are on board with every one from Roswell through to satelite mind control. Is it the desperate hope that one of them will proove to be true, thereby validating all of them?

Killing him will only create a martyr.
Holding him prisoner will inspire his comrades to take hostages to demand his release.

Therefore, I suggest we do neither.

Let the , Seals covertly capture him, fly him to an undisclosed hospital and have surgeons quickly perform a complete sex change operation. Then we return her to Afghanistan to live as a woman under the Taliban/Al qaeda

minutes from the Taliban/Al qaeda annual general meeting,

Ayman al Zawahiri: I do feel, Abu, that any Anti-Imperialist group like ours must reflect such a divergence of interests within its power-base.

Abu Ayyub al Masri: Agreed. Ayman al Zawahiri?

Ayman al Zawahiri: Yeah. I think Abu's point of view is very valid, Abu, provided the Movement never forgets that it is the inalienable right of every man--

Osama: Or woman.

Aymen: Or woman... to rid himself--

Osama: Or herself.

Aymen: Or herself.

Abu: Agreed.

Aymen: Thank you, brother.

Osama: Or sister.

Aymen: Or sister. Where was I?

Abu: I think you'd finished.

Aymen: Oh. Right.

Abu: Furthermore, it is the birthright of every man--

Osama: Or woman.

Abu: Why don't you shut up about women, Osama. You're putting us off.

Osama: Women have a perfect right to play a part in our movement,Abu.

Aymen: Why are you always on about women, Osama?

Osama: I want to be one.

Abu: What?

Osama: I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me 'Fatima'.

Abu: What?!

Fatima: It's my right as a man.

Aymen: Well, why do you want to be Fatima, Osama?

Fatima; I want to have babies.

Abu: You want to have babies?!

Fatima: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.

Abu: But... you can't have babies.

Fatima: Don't you oppress me.

Abu: I'm not oppressing you, Osama. You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!

Fatima: crying

Aymen: Here! I-- I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the right to have babies.

Babu: Good idea, Aymen. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister. Sorry.

Abu: What's the point?

Babu: What?

Abu: What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?!

Babu: It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression.

Abu: Symbolic of his struggle against reality

blaming Pakistan intelligence for sheltering al q could be enough excuse to take over their resources/country.

coming soon.....a U.N force patrolling the streets of Pakistan, don't bet against it.
