Rode a JP 84 today. The wind was a bit light at first so it was like towing a bucket and I did not like it at all. Then the wind picked up and it was sweet. Not sure about the volume. Felt more like a 75 to me. Worked better with the fins at the fron too. Wicked board for aerials. Seemed save in the white wash too. Felt much better on a 5.0 than my 5.4. Need one more ride on it before I am convinced. One thing I know for sure is that I would not be my choice if I could only have one board in my quiver.
I found it took a couple of sails to sort it out with the twins. Theres a few things I found I needed to change slightly with my stance and weighting ect to make it work at first but after using them fora while I swear by them. Works just like a good loose single fin board but better. I agree with what you said about the fin position and also the base position, I found you can really change the feel of the board with even 5mm movements of the fin or base, so its well worth having a play around with them. Used the 76 down at gerroa on the weekend and it felt as good as the 68.
As far as the speed and upwind ability goes they are just like any other waveboard with a decent amount of rocker, fast eddie would be a good one to comment on this as hes been sailing next to them for a couple of months now.
