How would the Windsurfer LT go with a more modern sail? I have a naish 5.3 and 6.2 force and wondering how suitable these would be for the LT?

Locally with my crowd we use modern sails with the LT. saving the retro sail for regatta events.

A modern sail sail works well in the LT. I use Ezzy 7.5

i didnt rig and went supping instead. should have surfed the LT...

what was i thinking.

the guys that did rig were catching waves.

Ive caught dozens of waves with mine just mucking about. Have had some rides hundreds of metres long, and often with the kids on the front, both standing and having a great time. Just need to be careful of traffic, if someone gets in the way quick adjustments are difficult...

Worlds Update
Video Teaser/Photo Shoot Postponed

Due to unsuitable forecast weather conditions for filming for this Sunday Matt Holder World's teaser video/photo shoot has been POSTPONED until next Sunday 17th November. Please try to show up for this, we need as many LT sailors as possible. Anyway there will still be racing this Sunday 10 November.

Daggerboard suggestions - not in order of importance:

Put Tennis ball on it to protect feet
spray silicone/Teflon on board and flaps to assist moving
flaps have been known to split - I have heard stick on sail materiel on flaps edge to reduce friction. haven't tried it yet.

This is very general and brief:

When sailing put fully down to sail upwind, perhaps a little back as wind increases depending on your level.

reaching can keep down in light winds and as wind increases bring back half way maybe

running square - fully up is good - however if there are issues getting back down thru flaps maybe let a little bit stick out.

In general i leave it down going downwind until board starts misbehaving as wind increases or waves gets bigger - then move back to make easier. yes board is easier to gybe with board up

I am not sure what to do when board moves back when sailing upwind - on deck white case has minor adjustment via screws, maybe loosen and position inwards slightly ? or shim with tape ?

More LT love here. Had to drive to Newcastle for work on Wed. Left Tue and drove to Toronto. Gusty Westerly meant 5-10kt patches with maybe 15-18kt gusts. Rigged and on the water in 10 mins, sailed for an hour, including a couple of reaches at (according to Garmin) 20knots. Heaps of fun! Some practice of my very lame freestyle on the way in. Only regret is that I didn't take my stand up paddle for after the wind died altogether.

Then driving home up the New England yesterday. Highway is shut because of fires, so on a whim I drove in to lake Glenbawn (never heard of it, but I saw a sign). As long as there's some water and breeze I know I can have a sail. Another quick rig, another hour on the water. Patchy as anything but I had fun exploring and working on chasing puffs, had some beautiful upwind sailing really locked in, had the water to myself of course. Bonus: fresh water rinsing everything off from the day before!

The LT has made me fall in love with windsurfing all over again so that I'm starting to look at short boards. But then I think of the simplicity and versatility of the LT...

By way I think I'm taking the 'inland dams sailed on by an LT' award...?

Yes that is very cool. i-99 was among the first mover co-branded adopters with Exocet and Starboard in 2018. Now there is also Naish and just about to be announced Severne. This is getting even bigger and its just the lemon next to the pie. The USA is awakening to the LT and the day will come sooner.

Bruce Wylie designed the LT. Bruce designed and shaped boards for Naish Hawaii and Mistral as well as being a Mistral /Gaastra team member with Robby. Its very appropriate there is a Naish LT in this new century particularly also since Robby was a world champion in the Windsurfer class at 13. The Naish brand DNA is inextricably woven into the LT.

Having said that for Naish cobranding it was announced this week that you have to pay a premium for the Naish LT: "Windgenuity are are also the importers for Naish and now have boards with the Naish graphics in limited quantities, these have a $200 surcharge." I guess that will be the board Robby rides when he competes in the LT racing, slalom and freestyle. If you have the extra cash why not own the board Robby will be using in LT competition.

I am thinking of getting a windsurfer regatta 5.7 sail. I have a Severne ARC C60 SDM 460 mast. Does it have a similar curve to the windsurfer mast? Would it work ok? (Im not racing at this stage, just looking at using rig component's from other setups).
