I'm not quite sure exactly how the auctions are going to work.
I believe there is a reserve price on the board but waaaayyyyyyy below retail price.
Might be a cost effective way of getting a new downwind weapon.....unless there is a bidding war

Hand blisters... Ouch! .. If you are concerned about what paddling for 5-6 hours might do to your hands you should consider this...

It's cheap.. Easy to fit.. Can be removed easy after if you want to.. and will keep your hands as soft as a baby's bottom..

or of course you could simply dispense with the paddle altogether and start paddling narrower, more streamlined, more sexy boards ;)

Frankston to Sandy today was about 27km.

Thanks to everyone who paddled, and those who contributed their efforts for organising.

Big thanks to the owner/captain of our extremely plush 50+ foot support Cruiser. . Same for the other boats and captains!

Pt took the lead at half way and was never challenged to the line

In reality, I took the lead twice. First time was when the photographer stopped to take this snap. Second time, I won't even begin to describe what the leader was doing as I went by.

Looks like an epic day, really looking forward to hear some match reports including the injury list and lessons learnt. Lots of Deep Heat and cold fluids tonite should aid recovery.

As far as we know, not a single injury or incident - sure to be some blisters and aches and pains!

We had two Doctors on the Coast Guard vessel and one on the beach at the end of the course ready to coordinate evacuation if required, but they didnt even get to put a single band-aid on between them - exactly what we were hoping for. We also had an appointed and qualified 'first aider' in each group and a specially prepared medical kit on each vessel.

Fantastic day and wonderful to be able to safely share the open water experience with paddlers who wouldn't normally paddle in that environment and get that sense of satisfaction from covering some real distance. And at the same time contribute to the local community with the donation to the hospital. Win win win outcome!

There was another vessel looking after the front runners but unfortunately I didnt get a chance to get an image. The armada leaving Frankston flanked by all the paddlers looked like a D Day dawn invaision.

Kathy thanks again for letting Kristi and I stay with you, it really made life easy.
