I have a smart tv that has YouTube on there.

It never ceases to amaze me how many debunking flat earth docos pop up. They are everywhere but not a single one pushing it.

Now i guess most of the masses do not spot a rat but i do. Looks like they might be a bit worried.

Youtube, for those that are not aware is a censored platform though less censored than what is on your tv screeens.

If you google biblical cosmology it seems in many churches this topic is splitting in two many who attend.

"Many other verses are plucked out of the Bible that supposedly teach the "flat earth" idea. They are mistreated the same way as the verses mentioned in this lesson.

-Reading into verses a preconceived notion that is not really in the verses themselves.
-Putting an arbitrary interpretation on verses that disallows the notion of a "spinning globe".
-Losing the Bible's focus on Christ and God's plan of salvation.
-Taking literally the metaphors of poetry and not allowing for poetic licence.
-If you correct these errors of interpretation, the notion of a "flat earth" disappears from the Bible. It is not "a flat earth book" after all."

Do you ever find yourself with that smart TV wondering if you should watch those debunking videos?

There are no videos suggesting that Mickey Mouse is a real animal and living in the USA either. I wonder if that's a conspiracy and they have hidden the truth from us? Is that the 'rat' that you have spotted?

Youtube/Google do censor videos though. They are clear on that. They de-monitize videos when they need to, and they give copyright strikes to creators if they think or have been told that the content violates copyright. They are a business and they want to protect their own interests.

Interesting you get flat earth docos all the time.

When I look at youtube it never ceases to amaze me how many videos of Kate Beckinsale chasing vampires in leather outfits pop-up.

...and also what amazes me is just how tight some of those leather outfits are.....

If it's a samsung it probably is. If its a yumcha TV from Aldi, its probably too cheap to bother.

I have had 3 samsung TVs. The last was a secondhand one, a bit more upspec than the other two. It has a pop up camera and when you hide it it complains that certain features are not available and it nags you about it. I think Samsung went through an issue of people complaining about it listening to you, but I am worried about the watching you bit.

I have enough social credit points, so I should be okay for a while though.

Hey, if we all lean to one side, or maybe all take a trip to Africa, we could probably lean the planet and let this asteroid go past. There's gotta be a benefit of having a flat earth.

So they say.

Gotta love your absolute devotion or faith in their narrative.

I am sure you sleep well at night having absolute faith that all your injections are keeping you safe from the airborne viruses that are supposedly out there

There are lots of clips you can find where a small boat disappears 'over' the horizon and then the same boat viewed with a zoom lens comes back into view showing......

Yes. It's quite common during summer. I took similar, but not as spectacular, photos from Dutch Inn a few months ago. As the sea breeze comes in, light the be a little bent through due to the temperature inversion. This makes Rottnest Island appear a little higher above the horizon. Sadly, Flat Earth imbeciles don't understand physics... or trigonometry... or geometry... or biology... or geology... or any other ...ometry or ...ology. They are intellectual gnats. Some of them even have the affront to give health advice. It really is laughable if the platform social media has given them wasn't so serious.

The temperature inversion you claim is also the same temperature inversion why you are able to see the Chicago skyline across Michigan Lake when viewed from around 60 miles away from St. Josephs.

60 miles is a drop of 2600 feet or just under 2200 feet from eye level.

They admit this inversion caused by the change in temperature over the water creates a mirage of the Chicago skyline.

Now if you buy their theory good luck in finding the truth.

Yes I remember some clips you posted purporting to show just that. But in one instance the boat disappeared behind a big swell, and in an other it disappeared because the lens was zoomed out too far and the little boar was smaller than 1 pixel, and no where near the horizon, obviously when zoomed it it was much bigger than a few pixels, and was instantly visible.

Please show us a genuine clip, where a reasonable sized boat disappears over the horizon and is brought back with more magnification.
I'm sure you won't be able to do it!!!!

Oh man, don't get me started. My eternal disappointment from this panmdemic was that the anti-vaxxers never got to the opportunity to go out into the countryside by themselves and live together free from vaccines and prove that it was madeup. It would have been a great experiment. They could have proven to us all that it was a lie, or they could have gotten sick or died. Either way, it would have been a great experiment and no one would have had to argue about protecting the vulnerable.

I don't know why the government didn't offer this as an alternative. There would have been heaps of takers.

Instead, we end up with this muddled experiment where the poor suckers in developing areas got to get the virus and let it mutate in their community until it became safe enough for the rest of us, who also had the luxury of being rich enough to isolate and then get a vaccine if desired.

.. oh and of course the antivaxxers have gotten the benefit of the mutated virus and people around them protecting them... except for the few that died, going to their graves either thinking they should have gotten the vaccine or that they were somehow targeted for not getting the vaccine.

All in all, pretty disappointing!

As for the rest of this thread, it's like Groundhog Day. We have all seen the pictures, and then the illogical arguments against them, and then the resigned disappointment.

Do you ever wonder if you had been lucky enough to be born in a different country, your one true good could have been Allah. If you were born somewhere else it could have been someone else. I wonder how that would have affected your understanding of why dinosaurs are not mentioned in the bible.

Hilly, there certainly are plenty of clips purporting to show more magnification bring boats back over the horizon.
But they were either made by complete idiots, or outright fraudsters, and I suspect the latter.

Would you be able to see Chicago across lake Michigan on a flat earth?

If it's over 60 miles away, how tall would a building have to be for you to be able to see it with your naked eye?

No.

Google earth curvature calculator.

From eye height above the water or 5 feet the tallest building would come into view above 2166 high lol.

I think the tallest building in Chicago is around 1500 feet.

The explanation given why you are able to see the skyline is it's a mirage caused by the difference in temperature
from just above the lake to the temperature higher up lol.

Pete has over 500 pages in his flat earth trilogy, its more epic than Lord of the Rings, still people buy in and keep arguing. You might want to reconsider who the fool is.
