What I don't understand, is how people so deficit in logic and rationality can cope with general living?

The human mind is indeed very strange.

Living in a society is much easier than contemplating things that you cannot see that are conceptual.

How often do you need to try and figure out someone's motivation? How often do you need to sit back and link two seemingly unrelated events together? How often do you need to make abstract guesses as to why something happens?

Life is pretty simple on the face of it. You don't need to understand finance and economics to pay for your groceries. You don't need an understanding of psychology to interact with people in the street.

We are also a product of our experiences. I know myself that I see attitudes from my parent's in my own choices and sometimes these things are hard to break from.

I feel like people who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones.

I figured that if I don't enjoy being called a sheep, blind, stupid, indoctrinated, cult worshipper, fascist, murderer.

I should try refrain from doing the same myself.

Although it's not always easy!

But you do you

Yes... and if you can leave things on Earth a little better, or at least without making things worse, its been a good life. I don't think you have enough years left to make up for your disgraceful conduct. If there is a god, you will be judged... and it wont go well for you.

Me on the other hand, I'll be fine either way.

There are 120 scriptures in the bible that make it clear we do not live on a sphere far less a spinning sphere just saying.

Disgraceful conduct - least i do not sink to the gutter and constantly use abuse to get my point across.

Weren't you thinking we live in The Matrix a while back. Which scripture documents that one?

Just like Israel and Palestine we will never get along.

I read the link and its basically saying all the scriptures that point to a stationary flat earth were taken out of context.

Then they flat out lie and change the meaning of words.

It cannot be any clearer there is no mention of a spinning ball anywhere in the bible.

You have nothing.

Just out of interest, are there passages that you know from the bible that indicate a flat earth?

If so, what are they? Can you quote them or have a link to these?

Why would a creator bother with this detail anyway? "Here's your Earth. Any questions? Nope. Okay, just keep away from snakes and don't eat the fruit in my garden, okay?"

In the last video link he posted, there's a pastor quoting scripture from various books.

But they all relate to people being able to see the "firmament" or the Waters or the Heavens etc.

It's all individuals on the ground apparently being able to see with their own eyes what is around them.
Which makes sense, none of the books or stories go beyond that, they don't try to describe the or explain galaxy's, constellations, or really any explanation of why we see such strange behaviour from the sun and moon.

You wouldn't expect any of that from your average Joe writing a religious texts anyway.

There's no mention of a spinning ball, because the writers of those texts can't conceive why that would even be a possibility.
"God made the earth, therefore everything that happens on earth and in the sky is because God makes that happen, I can't understand anymore than that because no one can fully understand God."

Unlike the ancient mathematicians who decided to take a closer look at the celestial bodies and discovered that their observations of the Sun and the Moon and geography were incompatible with a flat earth. They hypothesized that the world was actually a ball and tested it. They were able to calculate the position of the moon and Sun so as to predict eclipses, they calculated (pretty accurately) how far away the moon and the sun are (which no flat earth believer can ).

So, in-fact the people that go on to say that the world is flat are not only making it up, but they are going against God's own divine ability to create a planet and universe that makes perfect sense. He would certainly be able to create something that makes sense and to suggest that humans had to make a sun and simulate things is just insulting.

That's a bit arrogant isn't it, thinking that you know better than your god?

There you go, lying again. This time in the name of God. The Bible clearly and unerringly states that the Earth is quadrilateral. viz "And gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." - Isaiah 11:12

As long as your mate doesn't affect the soil around the foundations. I think the intent of that was to prevent remediation work being required on the house foundations by working too close. Who knew that the bible was a guide on good house construction principles?

Ok I am getting a bit confused about which God of Surveying we are talking about. This one appears to a Greek - Egyptian. No argument that mob knew about good, solid foundations.
From Wikipedia "A serapeum is a temple or other religious institution dedicated to the syncretic Greco-Egyptiandeity Serapis, who combined aspects of Osiris and Apis in a humanized form that was accepted by the Ptolemaic Greeks of Alexandria."

But the Bible is NOT a reliable document. It's fraught with hundreds of contradictions so it can't possibly be correct. It's not an authoritative source.

Not to mention the loss of detail through translation of translations of tranlation. Its a fantastic documentation of the time, but not a manual on how to live your life.
