I do wonder though. If someone like that is adrift in the ocean and sees no land around them at all, what do they think happened? I am sure the Polynesians figured this out a long long time ago as they traveled from island to island in small boats. The thing is there'll be so much atmospheric distortion, you might not be able make sense of it.
The amazing thing is how clear that temperature inversion is, and how big the buildings are. I guess the light is going high into colder less turbulent air.
It would be good to see a proper scientific explanation of how that happens.
I can believe the temp inversion bends the light path, but you'd think it would also create more distortion and much less magnification.

I guess one reason why there are so few photos of Chicago from across Lake Michigan is because the proof of the flat earth is only rarely visible.
You need to be in the right place, with the right equipment at the same time the right weather patterns occur.
The right weather patterns appear to be limited to temperature inversions.

I dunno but I'd guess it might be the cold air in the middle is denser than the warmer, thinner air around it, and therefore it acts like a giant lens.

Although I haven't looked up how tall towers are in Chicago, they'd need to be at least 1/4 of a mile high to be 1/4 of a degree.

Well, what do you know, the Willis Tower is over 400 metres.
So according to flat earth PC Defender this tower should be clearly visible at all times across Lake Michigan (unless obscured by dust, smoke, rain) without a mirage.

I was reading something on Quora yesterday where a 747 captain was told by a passenger reading the inflight magazine that they should fly direct, using a straight line, and they could save hours of travel time. The passenger pointed at the 'map' in the magazine and asked that he 'try' to fly direct.
