How long would it keep swinging? And how would you prevent children and flatteartherers correcting the swing?

There's actually been some entertaining videos done by flat earthers where they try to prove that globe earth demonstration experiments don't work.

"Flat earth deniers say that if I row a boat across a lake, it will disappear out of view from the bottom up, so nuts!
Let's go do that and show the world they're lying"

"So we rowed a boat over this lake, and for some reason it disappeared from the bottom up and we couldn't bring the bottom back by zooming in.

We're currently investigating what may have caused this, we think the cameras weren't positioned correctly or there were much bigger waves than what we saw"

In their failure to achieve their goal, they accidentally prove what they're trying to deny. So they tie themselves into knots to desperately avoid admitting that this experiment cannot show a flat earth.

Have you ever wondered why transatlantic flights appear to follow a curved path on the map instead of a straight line?

This phenomenon, often referred to as the "Great Circle Route," is a fascinating aspect of aviation that involves both geography and physics.

Let's dive into why these flights curve and how it benefits air travel.

?? The Science Behind the Curve:

The Great Circle Route:

The Earth is a sphere, and the shortest distance between two points on a sphere is not a straight line, but rather a curved path known as the Great Circle Route. This route represents the shortest distance between two points on the globe.

Geodesic Paths:

On a flat map, the Great Circle Route appears curved due to the distortion created by projecting a three-dimensional sphere onto a two-dimensional surface. However, this curved line actually represents the most direct path over the Earth's surface.

Fuel Efficiency and Time Saving:

By following the Great Circle Route, airlines can save significant amounts of fuel and reduce flight times. This efficiency is crucial for long-haul flights, where fuel consumption and flight duration are major considerations.

I flew from Manchester to Baltimore, the pilot must have been on drugs because I looked out the window and could see Greenland.

Ahh, that's when the sun technicians are doing scheduled maintenance. We have to do that each year when it is cooler so that we don't burn ourselves. They last longer than a year, but we figure changing the bulbs each year is easier and prevents unscheduled maintenance.

Which reminds me, you want to know what eclipses really are? Yep, that's right, sometimes these bulbs go dim and we need to do an emergency change.

Talk about a light bulb moment. Now it all makes sense.

So... given that we are coming up to the Fake News Winter Solstice, I decided to check the Illuminati-controlled timeanddate.com for sunrise/sunset times for today. Imagine my surprise when I saw that sunset in Eucla is at 5:13pm, but in Perth it is at 5:19pm. Someone owes me 6 minutes of daylight. I could have cleaned up the dog poo.

Hardly a tune. Deluded wannabe rebel poet who can't sing. Because he has almost mastered kindergarten level Garage band he somehow feels the monotone staccato delivery of his vocals is somehow edgy. Flatline alright. Worst of all, YouTube is going to start suggesting other crud like this. Do yourself a favour and just avoid. This is the price I pay for doing dumb stuff before the second coffee of the morning has kicked my brain into gear.

I've started using duckduckgo as a browser for looking up PCs links.

Otherwise I get weird advertising for dating sites and the algorithm provides very strange suggestions.

And before PC accuses me of being close minded and not exploring other view points, I have followed most of the links he has supplied and found them to be mostly hyperbole and conjecture while being completely evidence free.

I don't need to have to filter that stuff on top of all the clickbait crap I already get.

I'll still try check out things, as it seems his biggest gripe is that his view point gets dismissed out of hand.

But I agree, it gets tiresome when people bang on about something, and then provide links to things that either don't support their argument or a completely baseless.

I am not sure he actually notices if anyone watches/reads the content and then responds to it. It all goes into a black hole followed by another link to something equally valid.

I am sure plenty of people have started with logic and then realised its an unfair argument if the other person refuses to participate.

Imagine if the earth was flat though. Although to do it, that would be to also ignore/forget things like gravity, the sun, planets, and other stuff.

I guess the only rational explanation I can come up with is that there is a god making all this happen, as anything else cannot work.

What I don't understand, is how people so deficit in logic and rationality can cope with general living?

The human mind is indeed very strange.

Are you trying to be offensive?

I thought we had been making progress.

But after admitting you are basing much of your understanding of the physical world on literal faith in a religion.
Here you are accusing us of indoctrination?

Its because the rest of society feel obliged protect them. They are moochers who and sit back, relax and complain. In the real world they would be found defective and kicked out into the cold.

Hey Pcdefender, what did you spend that $5,865 Gofundme money on anyway? Society stepped up then to protect you, just as they are doing right now as vaccinated people insulate you from COVID through herd immunity.

I get that the two of you have been trading barbs for a while now, and remery has been turning up the volume a fair bit recently. And I don't agree with it.

But for you to just lump everyone you don't agree with into the same category, isn't much better.
Especially if you're calling us indoctrinated while trying to claim the high ground based on Faith.
