Young'uns won't remember the old days when glamour photos were common in windsurf magazines.
There were several beautiful windsurf girls - mostly from Hawaii or France, who were on the covers and pages of windsurf magazines. Yes they used to have windsurf magazines back in those days!

One, who you can see starring in the topless video on page one - was Joyce D'Ottavio - who also was featured in Playboy back then.




The most famous girl of all was Windsurf World Speed record holder Jenna de Rosnay, who became a fashion model and then fashion designer in Paris - and married windsurf adventurer Baron Arnaud de Rosnay.

Gotta love the 80s. Assymetric boards, mylar sails, Hawaiian sunshine, girls not afraid to get their gear off. Ken Winner was even in a BIC catalogue around 1986 sailing in his red speedos in the name of sexual equality and all that stuff.

Kelby Anno, Dana Dawes maybe? It was this sort of progressive windsurfing that led to the development of the waist harness, or so the story goes....
