Wait for full official results from SUP Vic & Surfing Vic, etc. However from memory;

Womens Surfing - Kristi Page
Mens Open & Mens 40+ was Mr Tackle Jnr and Snr respectively. Lummers was 2nd in Open. Ockanui was 4th in Mens 40's. Sparx was 3rd I think.

12'6 BOP - Jean Ringrose Womens, Heath in the mens I think. AL-SUP from Seabreeze was 2nd in Mens 40+, and I think Ock won Mens 40?

Marathon - Cam won both Open & Mens 40+. Jean won the womens.

Forgive me if I got anything wrong.... (I said wait for the official release).... just going from memory.... plenty of divisions to store in the head!

Thanks Simondo! Well done to everyone. Looked like great conditions for SUP surfing. Which break did they have the surfing and BOP style comps at? Top effort Kristi, Sparx and MJ.. I hope there are some visuals of the event!

I have some images and video but they will be available after the terminal sun exposure is dealt with.

Congrats to all the winers and the Surf Vic Crew for delivering a great even with smoking weather.

What an absolutely freakin epic day!!
First up, Surfing Vic set the bar way high on this one. Cant see any way it could have been done better. Something for everyone in spades. Huey came to the party with a reasonably light cross to following breeze for the marathoners, offshores and fun swells for the surfers and then a soothing seabreese and primo conditions for the technical race. Hats off to the distance and technical paddlers, what these guys do is epic, beyond my comprehension!!
Good to catch up with SUPVIC, BASS SUP members and Seabreezers. As allways a crack up to catch up with Leon and also the likes of Rossco, Camo Hosk, Bnaccas and Ockanui. Lots of new faces, Stewy, Chris and lots of familiar faces Phill, Kristi, Ant and just about anybody who picks up a paddle in Vicco (slight exageration)
Anyway, way past tired and emotional, time for a BEX and a good lay down.
Cheers

yep Sparx, it was a great day out....highly recommended for the friendship, great display of Sup surf/ flat water racing, not to mention an overload of endorphins and being maxed out with adrenaline, only now coming down from the natural high....any spare bex?

Another day on the beach yesterday at a local club comp, totaly fried! During the finals on Saturday my left forearm and hand started cramping up, couldnt let go of the paddle shaft to change hands. Same thing happened yesterday at the club comp, walking around with my two middle fingers cramped shut and my hand in a sort of weird, permanent semi shaka. Could not for the life of me paddle a shortboard........but jeez it made holding the after comp beer easy, couldnt throw the buggas away!!!!
Cheers

It was a great day - weekend, actually - had some really nice small peelers at 13th on Sunday. The best way to deal with 37C + strong, hot northerlies.

In my humble opinion, we need to think about an over 50's division too. I think four of the six surfers in the over 40's semis were over 50. Where I believe it will benefit things is that it will encourage more entries. I personally know of a few people who would have entered if there had been an over 50's.

Not as clear as Phills pics, but a few more taken with my little compact superzoom camera.

The point

Surfing Vics Setup

Phill causing lens envy.

Michael Jenkins (maybe) ripping it up in the over 40's

John Takle hacking his way to victory in the over 40's

Like father, like son, Matt Takle also shredding to take out the open mens.

The commentator said at one stage, "I think Graham Briggs has surfed every heat"

Will Cousins having a trip to the nose in the open mens final.

Graham Briggs (aka Sparks) was throwing water around that would have made a ye olde firemans bucket line proud.

Matt Takle showing why he took out the title.

Matt Lumley pushed the younger Takle all the way to take out second place in the open mens.

More senior Takle attack!

It was pretty cool to watch a whole field of 12'6" boards all scrambling to catch a wave across the point.
