Personally I think what a waste of resources. As much as the media hype surf rage incidents up they are from my experience not that regular.

How the hell do you 'target' surf rage anyway ? Just sit around waiting for a stink to erupt ?

After analysing and scoring the fight i am awarding the points decision to team esky lid after the deduction of a point to team stand up for the ambush when team esky lid still had a flipper on.

I also note the multiple right hand combo from team esky lid and the take down which for mine sealed the fight win.

So it's not safe to walk the streets at night - It's not safe to work anywhere that's open to the public after 7pm at night - It's also not safe to drive your car on any Gold Coast road without taking yours and your familys life in your hands BUT it's now gunna be safe to surf the southern points with such a visible police presence .....

When are these overpaid, overweight and overbearing boys in blue actually gunna do something constructive in the community

Yeah yeah I know that the pollies make the decisions that to a certain degree influence where the police resources go, but police hierachy need to pull their fingers outta their as#es and start making a stand and "serve and protect" where they are most needed - on the streets and in the suburbs

NOTHING new surfrage on the Gold Coast,its always been there,boardriding clubs & members usually show the ocean occupants the respect they deserve.

Hahahahahahahah i was thinking and thinking.....but mate what do you do. Police can't win. Someone's mate or relo dies in car crash, all of a sudden people want more cops out on the roads fining people speeding or drink driving, you get a ticket ,you blow up. Someone's son or cousin etc gets beat up in town all of a sudden parents want more cops patrolling the streets yet people hate getting locked up of fined for being drunk in public.

Cops will not be patrolling beaches for surf rage,......that's just fn pathetic. Its a government beat up to get media attention. The government determines where cops go 110% hence "government job aka Police force". The cops get paid peanuts and for those who think they don't.... do some bloody research.

How bout we all do something that no one seems to do anymore.

"Take responsability for you own bloody actions".... stop blaming external agency's for society's problems. If someone's getting beat up don't just f'n stand their, pull em apart.

meh, fights have been going on the goldy for years on the beach. As a young grommet that was also a Brisso I got very good at dodging large rocks thrown by the lads down at Greenmount. I surfed Byron for the first time in many years over christmas as was just blown out by the number of people in the water. We now tend to surf down the south coast of NSW, truthfully if there is 10 people in the water its crowded. I tend to agree that the poor coppers are overworked and underpaid and do a dangerous job that is necessary for all of us, and the govt doesn't make life any easier when we have to have a 30 sec grab to put on the news when an election cycle is approaching.
