Much more fun surfin a Mal chatting with the locals then supping an getting stink eye from those same locals.
As much as we don't want to admit it steriotyping is real (and the basis of racism). One respectful supper and everyone is happy, another less respectful comes out and all of a sudden all the sups are in the wrong.
Don't get me wrong I think it's rediculous the way it works. Was having a laugh with a mate about it today. You can be the worlds biggest wave hog an snake on a Mal an nobody cares but if you did the same on a sup it would be the end of the world.
As for kook Mal riders, that's usually every Mal rider (including myself)

The point I'm really trying to make is every time I go out there I try and get the locals used to stand ups as equals. Which requires being a little conservative and overly respectful. But it feels like this work is undone when SSKs paddle out.
