how is that a turn around? Let me rephrase it then, I would prefer if they were not out there but they are, so I am not ganna get all worked up when they get in the way (and I have to straigten out and paddle back from somewhere that is a long way back out.
well considering you started the thread guns ablazing for someone in a incident that you werent even near (to busy dog paddling back from 7th ave is my guess), put the blame directly on him and showed your disgust for it all.
Then to say that it is 80% of the surfer on the wave, responsability to do all the work.
and now you say that you would prefer new beginners werent out there....
are you coming or going? sounds like your one of the guys out there that paddles everywhere without direction or a clue.
As has already been said. Its not so much the problem with the guy/gal going and buying a board and heading straight out. Yes this does happen, but everyone only has ONE FIRST TIME.... alot of the crap is happening from people that have been paddling long enough to know better.
Bill, you are a very very bad angry man....hahaha

but you have just proved what is happening
The best example of a newbie/s I saw was 2 young girls (about 18 or so) on a couple hire boards. They were having a ball trying to paddle and catch waves, inside from the point, infront of the groin....well out of harms way and well out of anyones way. They were doing very well for first timers and showing what SUP should really be like. During this same sesson, there were a number of guys out the back in the line up, WITH LESS ABILITY, ON BIGGER BOARDS.
Leave the ego at home. If your not good enough, go practice somewhere other than a crowed point line up untill you have the ability to control your board and know the rules.
