@Viatormundi:
Falcon Vs Allstar is a tough one. I really like both.
My falcon is a 14 x 27.25" and my Allstar is 14 x 25" so it's not a fair comparison.
The Allstar is faster flat water as you would expect of a narrower board but the falcon is more stable on the rougher stuff as you would expect of a wider board.
I have paddled the 14 x 24.75" falcon so I'll try to compare that to the 14 x 25" Allstar.
Allstar:
1). Nice and light.
2). Pretty durable for a lightweight carbon board.
3). Accelerates well off the line.
4). Easy to keep at speed, good glide.
5). Very stable for its width(sunken deck helps. I came from a 12'6" x 28" Naish Javelin GX and the Allstar is more stable)
6). Easy to turn, one step back and a cross bow works best I think.
7). Pretty good to catch bumps.(does require fast footwork and good balance to keep the nose up)
8). Surfs well, great fun catching big fat waves and then just hanging out on the tail.
9). Lacks volume in the nose I feel.
10). Standing position is pretty far forward so that didn't quite suit me as it required a lot of movement back and forth once on runners and waves
11). Tends to get dragged about and swamped in very messy chop and swell.
Falcon:
1). Fantastic handle for carrying.
2). Addition of soft handles up front very handy.
3). Construction quality seems very good with high attention to detail.
4). Great glide once up to speed.
5). Picks up little bumps very, very well. This it's real shining quality I feel.
6). At least as stable as the Allstar if not a little bit more as it seems to ride over chop and wash rather than go through it. I was very pleasantly surprised by how stable the 14 x 24.75" was and almost changed my order for one!! I highly recommend people try both 24.75" and the 27.25".
7). Seems very similiar flat water speed wise. It feels a bit strange at first the way the water peels off the bow, doesn't feel fast but it is.
8). Easy to turn with the new further forward fin position. This becomes especially evident when on a wave and you can turn by leaning with your hips.
9). Surfs very, very well. More stable on waves when you are on the tail.
10). Stability really comes into play when up and moving, can feel a bit rolly at low speed or when stationary.
11). Flat deck is easy to maneuver around on.
12). Further back standing position and high volume nose means less moving back required when on runners.
I really like both so I'm keeping my Allstar for flat water and the falcon is for DW.
