I'm out of touch with the price of new boards as all of mine have been 2nd hand, but how do these prices compare with the other big brands of race boards ie starboard,dc/nsp etc?

Sounds heaps cheaper looks like there will be a lot of red on the water and may be the others may need to look at there prices as they do look much the same as the others high volume front ends and there's no question that they are quick for that money on each brand custom for me can put your own spin on it even if its just the spray job ????

Took the 14 x 27.25 for a paddle with the boys on the harbour this morning. Seems to glide well considering it is the wider board but I really noticed the difference when behind a group of paddlers or crossing wake. The new Falcon doesn't track as much as the older model and it actually accelerates off the wake of other boards. It also seems to sit in the pocket behind or between other boards much more comfortably. Stability was amazing. While the swell wasn't large there was a combination of chop, backwash from the cliffs and large ferry wake. The stability of the 27.25 was quite significant. Instead of concentrating on balance it was all about technique and trying to keep up with the young guys.

Hopefully will get a go on the 24.75 on the weekend and will let you know. Sammy Parker was on the thinner Falcon this morning and he looked very comfortable - though he always does.

Had a good paddle at Narrabeen lake with a stiff breeze and some small bumps this arvo. The craft of choice(compliments of Sam at Windsurfnsnow) was the 12'6" x 24.75" and the 14' x 24.75".
We tried a variety of things, paddling DW, upwind, side wind drafting, crossing each others wakes etc.
Came away very, very impressed with both. The 14 is incredibly stable(I normally ride a 25" Allstar). It's ability to track straight even with side/diagonal chop and small wind swell was very very good. It was very easy to turn too with just a step back as the fin is further forward than last year. Very stable on the tail too.
It's left me doubting about my decision to order the 27.25"...............
The 12'6" is like a rock it's so stable, turns on a dime and is very quick. I think it will surprise a lot of people this year.
All said, very good boards and I can't wait to get a crack at some ocean races on the 27.25.

What Lacey you haven't got one yet ???? some pretty sick boards coming out of that creek over there my take on it world leaders which ever brand takes your fancy

Are they only made in carbon this year?

Interestingly the bow doesn't seem to catch the wind

My first session on the 12'6'' this morning in half foot onshore.
























I followed the muck around with a short DW this arvo and i was absolutely stoked!!!! couldnt get the grin off my face!!! this is the best DW board i have ever ridden!!! Not the biggest fan of 12'6'' boards at 92Kegs but this thing flew! surfed the whole way!!

The funny thing is I was never much of a surfer before sup, but its really sent me back to riding a Mal. Mals are way more fun! I'm stoked very time I surf mine these days. Far more versatile than SUP plus a better atmosphere when surfing with other Mal riders, they actually understand surf etiquette.

As for the leggy I was the only one out as it was half foot onshore mush. Definatly if surfing in a crowd where one. What people need to realise is that even with a leggy the radius of danger is still at least 20 feet from where you fall so its actually much of a muchness. Board control is more critical to learn first
