That pic looks familiar...
If you'd just rotated slightly to the left your photo would have captured my efforts today too.
Stripping back years of accumulated paint from 14m of cabin and deck (using soy-gel paint stripper).
Down to the original epoxy (over timber) finish so I can recoat with bote-cote.

Boatin That Dingy of your looks the goods ,would weight in pretty lite Id say. Did you use stitch and glue method when you made her ?

Took the flywheel off the Bukh (it resisted) and found the oil leak. Oil is leaking from the cover gasket. I'll need to replace the crank seal as well, although that is not leaking. Thanks for the help HG.

On the dv 20 theres a y tube that the water pump hose is conected to while you have the fly wheel off remove the tube make sure its clear
Or poke a wire throught it if you dont want to remove it
Dv10 might not have this tube as it directs water to the rear cylinder
Im not sure

Very pleasant day on the Port Hacking today albeit a bit short of the breeze. But installed an LED cabin light (replacing U/S old fitting) then pulled in to the sandbar (Deeban Spit) and got down and cleaned the prop. Surprised the water certainly wasn't warm but it wasn't too cold either. Motor sailed out to the heads where the wind ceased completley. Motored home on the now clean prop.

Also met a fellow Seabreezer who recognised my boat from the pic I posted yesterday. Had a nice chat.

Hi HG02, Yes it is a stitch and glue from a B & B Yachts plan. Graham Byrne the designer is a Aussie in North Carolina. I think it is about 65 pounds. Just fits in my VW Transporter and I can launch and retrieve it without getting my feet wet ( apart from the time I went A over T )

Made my V birth draw was going to make two
But thought one will work with false bottom
I have to remove the sea cock as it interferes
With the bottom back of the draw
Sliders are fitted ready to mount the
Draw
Ill expoy fillet the all the draw joins
And paint it out next weekend

Should fit a bit of food in there to last a while
While taking to the boat it suddenly dawned on me it might not fit down the main Hatch it cleared by a couple of mm's

Thought I might have to pull it apart to get it in there

HG, that is just cool. It looks like you maintained a fair bit of volume on the drawer as well as slidey-under-retracting table thingy to boot.
I like what you are doing to the space, enhancing the boat. Good stuff.

Im trying to fit and use all the space in the boat and to me there was a meter wasted walk to the head I guess you could have showered in there if you opened the hatch but sea water and a good rain storm will be me fine

Maybe I could have fitted a composting toilet in the draw would be interesting over dinner

Hi CanAussie14, Simplicity is on the eastern side of Burraneer Bay directly east of me. I'm on the border of Dolans Bay and Burraneer Bay opposite the Wally Street Wharf. Another Seebreezer is Bundeenaboy and he is moored at Bundeena.

We should organise a raft up one day.

HG. I received the gasket and crank seal today. Do I put the gasket on as is or give it a coat of something ??.
I seem to remember my Dad coating gaskets with Vaseline, but I think that was more to hold them in
place rather than any extra sealing capacity. Mind you that was 50 years ago. !!.

Sam, I use Loctite No.3 non hardening jointing compound on just about every gasket. It is methylated spirit soluble and was formerly known as Rolls Royce Jointing Compound.

I believe it is certified for use on aircraft engines.

Rolls Royce jointing compound is Hylomar Blue and most certainly is approved for aviation use, I certainly used enough of the stuff over the years. It is an excellent product and should be more widely promoted.

I've some very old vintage 1970 cat Brown its a collectors Item its not sold any more. Mine was grown on the North side of Eyes rock many years ago not far from Tennant Creek N.T.

But dont tell Loose Change hes a collector of vintage Reds

Another excellent jointing compound, especially if you also need to avoid dissimilar metal contact is Celloseal QH-JC11, thick goopy yellow stuff. Also aviation approved.

Hylomar Blue is a later version of R.R. jointing. Loctite No.3 is the same as the original that pussers used in the 70s.

If it is Gasket Goo, toss it in the bin. If it is Stag, use it only on threaded joints.

From memory the stuff is in a white and yellow tube and the colour is yellow, but I can't recall the name.

That sounds like Durolac which is an insulating grease usually used between s/steel and ally. It can be messy.

Fitted my fuel tank sender , didn't get down there till late today had a few jobs to do before hand . My V birth draw now slides as well I've still a few things to do to it yet

Well did get to paint the deck around the mast.. But I did alter the draw so it now works closes and opens and locks. I can stand in it and its rock solid .
Charriott drop by today for a chat which was a bonus as I had a quick clean up before he came it was nice to have a chat
