A few answers within

* We advise you to exercise caution in Fiji due to the unresolved political situation and deterioration in the rule of law following the December 2006 military coup. We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution in Suva because of the prevalence of crime and potential for civil unrest.
(no plans to go there)
* Cases of typhoid have recently been reported in Suva and throughout the country. For more information see Health Issues below.(no plans to go there )
* Pay close attention to your personal security and monitor international media for information about possible new safety or security risks.(Fijians are not stupid .they do not bite the hand that feeds them (tourists)
* In April 2009 Fiji's Constitution was abrogated. Fiji is currently ruled by decree, including a set of Public Emergency Regulations, giving the police and military extensive powers. * There have been reports of increases in violent crime. Expatriates and tourists have been targeted, particularly in Suva. You should maintain a high degree of personal security awareness.(sounds like common sense to me)
* Cyclone season is November to April. See the Natural Disasters section below for more detailed advice. (Phew lucky its june )
* Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 has spread throughout the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides useful information for individuals and travellers on its website.
