The new Sabfoil W1110 wing is looking promising as a high aspect , fast, light wind foil.
I would post a picture but I'm a bit PC illiterate.
alternately , check out Sabfoil on Instagram.
You've got way too much choice Jeroensurf, I'd never know which wing to choose .
probably ?1140 and that's if it even arrives in the UK , they're not so fond of us Brits after the Brexit divorce !
There is some overlap, but I can deal with it :) Just bought a 2th hand W1000 and 945 because I got a good deal and have to see wich ones I keep on the longer term.
So far the Balz and 940 are my favorites
Here's the instagram video -- fast when pumping and massive glide. I'll bet it's 1140 sq. cm.

Yeah it's awesome! It's my light wind option. Once up on foil the glide is like nothing I've ridden before. You can ride ankle high bumps. It's super efficient and will just glide forever.
cool, i just got one but haven't got on the water yet. first day with in in my possession it was blowing 30... then subsequent days zero wind. Riding the W1000 now, but I need a lighter wind solution so will try out the W945 and W1110. Also would like to have a setup for prone and dock starting. How hard could it be? haha
wicka - thanks for the froth on this foil. Ive been looking at the w1110 but limited information out there. Would make sense for me because I have a mast and a few stabs, but would still need to buy a kite fuse, which is a bit annoying.. (I've got a collection of 3 slightly different surf fuses).
sunset - I'm interested in your comparison of the 945 to the 1110. I have a w945 on the way and itching to try it out.
Jeroen has written quite a bit about the various sabfoils including 1110 and others on SB and IG and FB (i think). Great info. He has quite a few pies on me though. I'm wondering if the 1110 would have limited applications for other riders. I'm 75kg.
There's a bit more info on it in the Armstrong vs sabfoil thread.
I'm 82kgs and I can Wing it, prone it, and dock start it. Where this wing shines is efficiency and glide. It's great for going down wind and riding endless bumps. I can get it to turn but don't expect it to turn like the w1000 being it so wide. But you can still get nice long sweeping powerful turns but ultimately because of the span think of it as an efficient glider.
I've been loving it prone on the small days where it's only 1-2foot. I've linked the most waves up with this wing, you can pump it forever! It just keeps going and has a really low stall speed unlike the w1000.
I've managed to dock start it but I have needed a good 3 steps. I can do a standing jump of a dock to get this going. Lighter riders would most likely be able to get it going easier. Im Hoping once I get better I'll be able to beach start it and pump out to the lineup.

Oh yeah soz i remember seeing your posts on the other thread after i read them again.
DWability is what i want in flaky wind and smallish bumps. 399 stab sounds like the one my weight.
Itd be interesting to know if the 1110 performs similar to the ART1099.
@Natho, i,m close to 100kg, so the different isnt a few pies, but rather half the bakery
, but I know an guy who is 65kg and loves the 1110. He normally rides the W800 so his only complaint was that he needed to relearn how to turn due to its wingspan.
I don,t prone or Supfoil but when I saw a review of the Art1099 winging it dis sound exactly like the 1110.
With the 399 it feels really fast and slippery. the 425 ads a bit more drag but a lot more stability and at this moment I prefer that over the extra speed. you just need a bit of shimming to fit the the 425 on the kite stab, but that is mainly my (lack of) skills coming short.
How to shim: I cut some out of 2 layers of a frequent flyer card that has been useless the last 2 years
,glued the 2 layers together and drilled holes in it. works great :)
Good discussion. I have a quick question. Moses / Sabfoil have introduced the newer high strength surf fuse to cope with the wider spans of their newer surf wings. Have they done the same for the kite fuse? The 1110 must place incredible stress on the connections.
I'm 108kg dry. The w1110 is awesome. (Paired with the old 425 race sabaliser).
it gets going really well, fast and stable.

good idea using the old 425. That's my favorite stab with the 633 kitefoiling :-)
What would be the lowend for you as we have similar weight?

no, but the wings fitting on the kite fuse have less surface. The 1110 has a wide span but is 1180cm2 so the stress is a fair bit less as with the lower/mid aspect foils as the 1100 (2100cm2!) that caused problems.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
I ride strapless so i,m not a jumper but with close to 100kg I can put some stress on gear and haven,t had an broken or bended bolt with the kite fuse :)
I had a few spin outs, but so far I blame the mast instead of the foil and at one point something has to give a bit.

Hi,Jeroen,
can you lay any photo, how you shim stab 425 in 647 fuse??
many thx
It really isnt rocket-science.just 2 layers of credit card glued together and cut to fit. then dril 2 holes :)

Jeroen thanks for quick answer
I am afraid of changing the angle of attack and since the stab is out of the fuse groove there is a bigger drag maybe
Will try
cheers

Jeroen,
done. Will try tomorow
I didn't notice any difference. The 399 is a bit faster and more slippery, the 425 al lot more stable and easy to use.As written before, this is probably down to my lack of skills, but at the same time it makes my life a lot easier so why not.

how do you buy more foils if you had to cannibalize two credit cards to shim your stab??
got my first runs on the W1110 yesterday. First impressions
-gets going pretty easily. i think the take off speed is 5-6mph compared to 7-8mph for the W1000
-took a few runs to get used to turning. turns decent
-glide through tacks is amazing
-speed seems good. i was in light wind but hitting 20kt pretty easily (i think). no GPS until later when the wind died
-very well behaved foil... easier to ride than the W1000. got on a Coast Guard Pilot Boat wake and was able to ride easily/indefinitely

I used my Frequent flyer pas. Probably the only way I could make some flying miles with it. ![]()
I think the bigger you are the bigger the take off wind speed difference will be between the 1000 and the 1110.
For my 98kg + full wintersuit, boots etc I need some serious power for the W1000 while the 1110 is pretty quick to go.Not as quick as the 1100 with 2100cm2, but once going it the 1110 outperforms the1100 in everything.
good to know. i've spent very little time on the W1100 b/c it's generally overkill for the conditions here. I can see the W1110 being much more useful.
from the other day... sorry vid was originally cropped for portrait/phone
in the netherlands we don,t have trade winds or big thermal systems, so all the wind and waves are depression driven giving anything from very low wind speeds to high wind. Waves are often short period.
I don't use the 1100 that much, but for summertime cruising with an light seabreeze it is good fun.
I have to see how often i will use it this year with the 1110 also in my quiver, but last year it has been more than often an session saver/allowing me 4-5 sessions a week :)
anybody visited SAb websites now? There is a new system kraken, stronger but not compatible with any mast and fuse in present![]()
barely a year ago SAB presented mast 92 HS fuse 700 and 899/incompatible with 710 and 900/ and now it is rubbish.I would like to know what to do if I damage fuse I can stick 92 mast to ass![]()
Yes saw it last evening and got mixed feelings about it.I read a lot complaints that people wished the masts were stifffer so redesign them makes sense.Changing to an wider base and M8 for an stiffer mast fuse connection as well as long as you support the older system for a longer period. On FB they stated all the current kit will be for at least 3y available.
What I don,t understand is that while they launch a whole new system they havent redesigned the fuses and wings to an stiffer connection with the foil alike Axis or at least M8 instead of M6.
