dont be scared by all these stories,
honestly, it all depends on the injury circumstances, infection /bacteria present, and a lot more... etc.
i think stories of loss of limbs, limb rot and all that is really not helping, Treat each case individually. There must be lots of one legged guys/girls in the tropics... not.
just take it easy and do as the doc says, Its a mere flesh wound.
