I'm not a techno expert but with a direct view from your home and internet it would cost nothing ( or nearly) to set up a webcam

I log into "the" webcam sites late at night and the girls say it costs nothing!

We use old android phones for home security, that's with a app called manything and its free

Yeah I don't expect to have any trouble with making it work. I just don't have a camera to use. I've been considering doing this for years, so that I can easily see if it's worth knocking off work early to get home for a sail.

I'm staying at Frecinet Nat park for a week. Drove past Moulting Lagoon, is it ok for some flat water sailing?
looks shallow but I have a couple of fangy fins with me. Now all I need is some wind...

If the forecast is right, always a bit iffy around here, Georges Bay at St Helens could be a go on Saturday or Sunday.

I'm at Richmond for the next week. What are the likely spots from here?

Plenty of options.
Marion. Dorans. Midway.
Sandy Bay, Lauderdale,
Montrose.
Plus more.
Have you checked the spit guide?

I know it's not near Richmond but Stanley's looking alright today & tomorrow. If only I had a helicopter I could nip up for a few low tide morning speed sessions...

Marion Bay Lagoon is indeed looking ok for Friday afternoon. If the forecast holds, I'm hoping to go down after work Friday getting there around 4:00pm and squeezing in a couple of hours of sailing before dusk approaches and the NE wind eases.

I had a great couple of hours sailing at Doran's this afternoon. I arrived around 11 and waited around for an hour or so and the wind picked up so I rigged 6.6 in the hope it would be as forecast and by the time I rigged the wind cooperated.
My first time there and it's a very good spot. NNE and nice cruisy sailing on the 76 wide naish slalom. I forgot to bring my gps so it didn't really happen....... the wind turned around to the east more and dropped annnddd I gggot cold so packed up. Anthony dropped by to check the wind and we had a chat otherwise I had the place to myself.
Marion bay lagoon tomorrow afternoon.

I missed Monday's wind at Port Sorell as we were on the road, had a good session yesteday in marginal winds low tide and wind built as tide and chop increased. Looking o.k. for tomorrow so I'll give it another go then.
Home on Sat after two + months here. Enjoyed every minute of it from 0 C at Miena to 30 C at Freycinet. Everyone here friendly and welcoming.
Sailed at most of the iconic Tas spots so when we return I can plan our trip with more accuracy.
Someone toggled the switch from summer to autumn last week and we can see and feel the difference.
Hoping to make the Tassie trip an annual event.
