I can only vouch for the SLW 90 wide. The width at the tail means you can put a big fin in, I usually use a 60cm RSX fin in the light stuff with a 9.5 Overdrive or 9.2 Turbo & swap down the fin once it gets too much.
From what I have read Tardy you seem to be at a high enough skill level that means you don't need a tough skin board, but would appreciate the lighter board to get you going sooner.
yes .i definatly will be going for a carbon board .light boards plane faster with personal experience .
i do have a tabou CED heavier 105 ,vs, a 2nd hand 115 tabou LTD .the carbon boards are so much nicer .
and stronger .had a good catapult on my CED it split the nose wide open .rather than just dinging it .like carbon does .

sounds like the extra width is the go ....for extra sail cloth .its going to be for light wind ,so low chop .
but i still want a fast board .that points well.
