From memory, they are often a little stronger than predicted. My personal formula is whatever the NW at 8am is, times ~3 (in the broadwater)
Fingers crossed.
(dear jinx god: this is a double jinx so not a jinx)
I went, I looked , then I went to The Spit for a surf, Seabreeze said 15 , no way, did anyone go out, I'll be a bit peed off.
Two of us had a great time after about 3.30 on Lake Weyba. ![]()
It was around 10-15 NE. We were set up for light wind sailing, whereas most would not have ventured out.
Yup. Juuust sailable on some big gear at Cold Toast right now, but alas I'm working. 14 knots is kinda boring, but a consistant breeze, warm weather, sunshine, clean water and the like, who cares about exciting? Sailing in these conditions is niiiiice.
I'm going to be rigged and ready at The Train about 1pm tomorrow (probably KFC) for my first seabreeze in can't remember how long. I don't think I sailed The Train at all last season.
I hope I'm stoking some enthusiasm. ![]()
PS Big gear for me is 110litres and a 7.2, and a 40cm fin.
Just to stoke some enthusiasm some more there's a blue patch predicted around 4pm Saturday. 15 - 20 knots. And The Train funnels and accelerates the wind.
I'm taking a 5.9 just in case.
Summer is here!
(I'd like to do Narrowneck but I don't think the wind has it in it)
Im thinking I might dredge out to that Island of wind in the middle![]()
Looks likes its just off reddy. Manly had some wind this week so might head there or wynnum
.
Well Panda 10 points for optimism, I have had the week off and it hasn't kicked in enough for a sail, can't see today being any different, however, I will not miss out so Choo Choo here I come 115l and 7.5, hmmm we may need to blow up some moored craft.
looks windy down there atm, and not a single sailor out there on the webcam![]()
chairman - i finish at twelve. if it's still windy at currumbin and no wind up here, you want go down there? (if you aren't already). i'm worried about it dying off down there in the arvo
