Just wanted to add my congrats to jamie and the team. Not sure how you organised the epic conditions but an early request for next year seems like a good idea.

I had a great time in my first ever comp. Did the palm beach walk of shame many times but fortunately there was plenty of others to keep me company.

Good job to all the well deserved winners but I think a special mention should go out to Gary who I thought was unlucky not to end up on the podium somewhere.

Ps Bowsa - you'll notice the mast might have snapped by the quality second hand 5.0m ezzy remains intact

haha, MARTIN! mate as soon as we left on sunday arvo i realised where i knew you from haha, sorry about my bad memory... but yeah sunday the trusty ol ezzy wave did me proud, albeit til my mast snapped and the whole of the mast sleeve, from above the boom clamp opening to the top of the sail tore... not to worry i havent lost my faith in ezzys yet!

and mucksy... no comment, muhaha

Yea Gary was ripping, taking off waaaay deep behind the rock. I thought Jaime said he came third? Could be mistaken though.
Cant wait to see more pics Jaime

I'm surprised more photos haven't turned up - I spotted several people over weekend taking pics with good cameras.

A good camera doesn't make a good photographer or for good photos

Steshegler is right, and many of my Sunday photos are average to say the least due to stuffing up one setting in the camera...doh!!!

But I know at least two of the guys with cameras there will have the pics in Oz Windsurf. Along with a full write up on the event. If we want publications like these to continue we need to make sure they have something to publish.

Absolutely guys. I had intended to come up this year but had conflicting schedule, so perhaps next year? That way you can focus on what you do best and I can focuss on what I do best The Kirkster at OzWindsurf will get top quality pics and story, and you all get a disc with 100's of professional action photos of yourself.

Actually the photos at the beginning of this thread are pretty hot - can someone tell me who took them?

Doing one of his famous overrotated Backy/pushies.

1st thing -thanks everyone helping out that day sure wish it doesnt happen to anyone else pain..... you have no idea

2nd - push loop was total different move to what i was trying to do if i attempted to do a push it would not of finished like that!

3rd-I was was going into a back loop - got overpowered last thing remember was the board pushing under my feet due to not having enough height board hit the water - flicked upside down

If i attepted my famous "push loop" i would of had enough hight and that would not of happen!

Outcome-No sailing for atleast 6 months i have a rod through the center of my bone for life cant walk for atleast 6 weeks? but who would want to sail after a accident like that! and it f****n hurts

Thanks anyway Dan for your detailed glorified descripion!

Adrian

the picks that have been put up are the best of what was taken, regardless of who it was.

In saying that, there is a reason why there is so many picks of the guys that picked up the podium positions... they simply stood out.

for those of you who weren't there... those pictures represent the people who could get through the 6-8ft break at the alley for more than one wave. there were about 25 of us, but only about 8 or so could manage to get through... i managed to get through for only about 7 waves in the whole weekend, and snapped 2 masts and wrecked a sail in the process - and i wouldn't say i'm a crap sailor...

i say good on ya jamie for upping the pics, and the rest of you, all i can say is... i didn't see you there...
