I am a Russian girl (21) and I am here to learn English. But I am a mad keen windsurfer and have brought my windsurfer all the way from Russia! I live in Surfers Paradise and don't know where to go :( Is there anyone who windsurfs near here, I would love someone to show me good places to go and some local knowledge. I hope someone can answer and I can use my windsurfer at last.
This is a good starting place to lookhttp://www.windwanderers.com/Locations.html
this time of year you are most likely to get westerly winds NW, W or SW, or due southerly winds
it really only leaves you with a few limited options locally for reliable wind, that being
Wellington Point - 1 hour Drive
Victoria Point - 50 minute Drive
The Shearwater - 12 minute drive but will really only work if wind is blowing in opposite direction to tide
There are other spots that can sometimes work in winter but just not as popular
Cheers![]()
i was out at oxenford water sports club near the tavern
i rekon it would work in w winds
shortish runs though
but flat as
any thoughts?
u know i actually looked at that on a couple of occasions when the wind was howling through and it was capping like crazy
Theres course racing at Paradise Point Sailing Club every Sunday at moment, using old long boards. There are a couple of spare boards that can be borrowed and used with your rig if interested
Hi Lana,
Lucky i saw your post. There are a lot of predators who lurk around these windsurfing forums looking for vulnerable travelling windsurfers to take advantage off.
I would not take their advice. Send me a personal message with a recent photo and your mobile (cell) phone number and i will be your personal windsurf guide, body guard and friend.
^^ Pfft.......I won the Irish and Canadian lottery 5 times and that was only yesterday on my email. I PM'd you (100 times)
Lana is a semordnilaps for............![]()
[this has to be a gee up doesn't it??!]
Dont listen to Sausage Lana . He has a dungeon under his butcher shop and no-one ever sees him get a meat delivery. Sure he has millions of dollars but people often find jewelry in his mince !!!
Ya gavaru pa Ruski, Kasajalenyu ochin ploxa. Ya dumu tbi znayesh kak gavaru pa Engliski ochen harasho, I ya toji dumu tbi ne pravda ; )
Shto tbi dumish?
P.S. Skolka stoet?
Now lana I have recently aquired an appartment at southport that overlooks the broadwater. It is the best place for windsurfing here on the gold coast. Many of the men who have answered are not from the gold coast. you should ignore them. They are being facetious. (This means insincere or not truthful, vodka struck, or a potato head)
I have an enormous .......... range of spare sails booms and masts. Some of them are a little old, like me, but can still be fun to ride. Many of us here are a little like that.
Dear Lana. Sure the broadwater is a nice place to windsurf but there is a Hitch. You should stay away from him. He does have enormous stuff but I'm sure its size would be
unappreciated by a girl as young as your self. My gear however is of average size.(thou a bit crusty)
Hi Lana,
I am glad you found the forum, although if I had of know you were so pretty I would have advised you to not put a long distance photo on the avatar, lucky you are not wearing a bikini or you may not have got any relevant information.
The links to the locations are good and as has been mentioned you are here at the wrong time of the year on the tail end of a very crappy season. Never the less we all still love to get out whenever it blows and if you keep an eye on the weather map www.seabreeze.com.au/maps/qld.asp and this forum as soon as the arrows go green everyone will be talking about where they are heading. Personally whenever there is a westerly blowing I go to Wellington Point because you get a good run and there is a great crowd there.
Can you let me know what type of windsurfing you are into, your skill level and what gear you have. This may help to better determine where you head and in what conditions.
noone is doing anyone else on here OK! this is exactly the kind of mixed message that is likely to cause confusion to our new found friends from overseas who have decided to learn english here!
In these times of no wind we should just focus on our equipment and ensure that it is ready to go if and when the opportunity arises!
HA HA HA, the op is a fake man.
But Lana if you are legit, I'm sorry, but I can't help you because my wife would roast my berries for breakfast... lol
Hey Lana, you seem to have excellent written English for someone who is learning the language. ![]()
If you are a mad keen windsurfer, I would guess you would be a world champion. In that case, I am putting my hand up for tuition.![]()
Having just got back from a super masters soccer tournement in Bangkok i am sorry but i am always suspicious of lovely women now....................need to check your credentials!Make sure Lana isnt Larry!
Dearest Lana There are a few doubters on this forum but I for one am not one of them. My old longboard is ready and waiting should you wish to take it for a ride. I even pulled it out, dusted off the the cobwebs and gave it a polish in anticipation. Hope to see you Sunday
