I agree, but I'm flippin' working today until late. Wednesday I fnish at lunch-time, so it's a much better prospect.
I may try and go late today, Tuesday yet, depends on how I finish.
Overall, a great forecast for teh week and the weekend.
I might head north on the weekend to try and catch some more wind, maybe try that Bribie spot.

It's nearly 9am, I'm sitting on Marine Pde waiting for a meeting, it's raining, 8-12kts on the wind meter with a gust up to 18kts and the temp on the car dash is 21 degrees - maybe later....

Typical.
Windy enough to blow a dog off it's chain at the Seaway, whilst barely a gentle zephyr at the southern end of the coast.
I can see myself getting dragged up to Shearwater tomorrow whether I like it or not.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

never mind...it only took me 5 years to work out why they hold the outdoor art expo, best smoke ring, peanut stacking and card house building competitions at currumbin

Yeah, I'm slowly coming to the same realization.
Good wind on Friday afternoon though, until my faithful 12 year old mast broke, in the shorebreak luckily !!
I'm thinking I might go off Casuarina this arvo, straight out from my house. A bit lonely, but the wind should be good.

Just had a look at Currumbin at lunchtime. Looked like there was a lot more wind out the front than showing on the Coolie graph, BUT a massive sweep.
There were a couple of Irish backpackers surfing, who the sweep was taking far out to sea in a north-easterly direction at a great rate of knots. They were being rescued by the lifeguards on a jet-ski.
I saw them drift a good few hundred meters in about 10 mins. Another few minutes and they would have been conpletely out of sight.
Not a good place to hang about if the wind dropped on this wind and tide.

Made a huge card castle today for two hours. I hope the wind doesn't come through tonight and blow it over.
Currumbin will definately be ON tomorrow while I work!!

Got there at lunchtime. Was a bit up and down at first, but filled in solidly.
I used a 5.8 but could have used a 5.0 or a 4.5 at the end. Was somewhat overpowered on my last few runs, on a waveboard.
It's still a skanky ho of a place though, even with good wind.

Cool pics, haircut. I didn't realise you were taking shots yesterday. I was gonna see if you wanted a blast on that board, but you had left when I came in.
I got way overpowered at the end. I checked the graph last night and it was showing 33kts at that time, so no wonder.
I'm liking that new board a lot, might get out at Kirra/Tugun today on it.
I'm still gybing like crap though. Getting a littel better, but need way more practice.

Wifelet says "good shots", nice and clear, wants to know what camera and lens you were using. She is a terminal camera gear-head, actually worse than I am with sailing gear.
