Pic from early in the afternoon at Yamba yesterday, guys were out on 6.6, 6.0 and 5.7, filled in more solid by late afternoon.
I've got a clip from the gopro uploading, but internets a bit slow so I'll see how that goes. Still time for you guys to drive down and catch the wind this arvo, I reckon if the speed guys were behind the wall yesterday they would be hitting high 30kt peaks.
didn't get much good footage, didn't close the case in front of the freezer, so it kept fogging up every 10 minutes. Also i tried using imovie HD, which murdered the video quality.
yeah high tide, some little waves were actually spilling over the wall at some spots so it was a tiny bit lumpy hehe.
anyway, looks like there is going to be more wind here then up north, so gonna stay and sail, drive home tonight.
great spot swoosh- I have had some of my best times windsurfing there esp. at Pippis Beach.
BTW who was freestyling along the sand bar north of wavebreak island this arvo? Looked like a great spot with plenty of flat water. NP sail- was that you Haircut?
Yup just got back from sailing off pippi beach, my only thought was, why did i leave the 4.5m in brisbane?
Not much swell, but spent early after noon powered on the 5.3m and 84L waveboard, wind picked up as the afternoon went on and some nice ramps started appearing, more guys started showing up and a few were well powered on 4.7's. Probably peaked at 6 sailors on the water and 2-3 kiters, was more earlier but i think a few packed down when the wind started picking up. Was great fun even managed some random waverides thou there wasn't really much to be had, was confused swell. But beautiful water, and great wind!
Speed guys really shoulda made the trip down, i think it would have been 20 to 25kts (its usually windier in the river then on the beach) gusting to 30kts behind the wall off whiting beach, and probably dead flat as the tide is still on the way up. 40kts peak speed wouldn't have been much to ask i think.
Long weekend well spent. Time for a nap and then drive back to bris.
It was unAustralian of me not to be able to have sailed yesterday but I am hoping for today!
What do ya reckon hey?
i reckon your reckoning was good

Awesome film, nice board is the 100 ltr joker?? Sailed at Yamba last year on my way up from Sydney. Stayed at the new YHA in town, cheap as chips and clean as a whistle. Popped upto the pacific hotel for a few swift ones; happy days. Think im going try coloundra this weekend, plenty of shallow areas to try freestyle moves
