A bit of a wrap up...
Only a small number of competitors this year, a mix of local guys and interstate. Many thanks to Lloyd and Richard Ellis for making the trek up from Nambucca, I'm hanging out to get back down your way now.
Saturday started out looking like it might be on with a southerly coming in at about 10 knots early, but alas it stayed pretty much that way all day. A couple of guys couldn't resist the 6ft+ waves on offer and this saw Oli ringing around everywhere to try to secure a 100Lt board. Once out, after a few tries, the light weights managed to pick up a few and certainly make the conditions look a lot more inviting than they actually were.
Sunday dawned with hardly a breath of wind and bit smaller swell, and remained that way for much of the day. The early southerly swung east during the day and by lunch time it was pretty evident that the fun for the day was all going to be power by our ability to paddle a surf craft. As the afternoon wore on a few stayed around and enjoyed a beer and a few snags from the very slow BBQ and reminisced on all those time in the past we have had wind and good times.
Due to the lack of wind there was no official winner of the event, however Gary Kepper was defiantly a stand out.
Thanks to all that attended, next stop will be an end of season function. Keep your eye out for that one.
well jamie it's a shame the wind didn't play but congrats to you mate for organising another excellent event.
Nice effort Jamie, pity about the wind, from Haircut's video, that was the only thing missing. Same applied to the slalom events for us too. So much for the Cyclone.
