I believe Barn was refering to Dick Ward who was an American baseball pitcher in the 1930's

He was also the father of Burt Ward who played Robin in the Batman TV series during the 1960's

Who cares if most kiters are back on the beach at 25 knots, we were probably out there 2 hours before the poleys while you were waiting for it to pick up enough for you to get up on the plane. Do you really want us all out there at the same time anyway?
