And they cant launch there kites from a beach full of rocks at least windsurfers still can..Thats why windsurfing is better The reason more girls do it is because girls like fancy colours and so do gays

Geez guys...I wish there were more guys on the water here (kiters or w/surfers). Most times I go w/surfing I have to let the 'minister fo war & finance' know where I'm going for safety reasons because I know I'm going to be on the water by myself.

In 5 years, I've w/surfed once with kiters (Torquay, Vic. early this year) and expecting the worst from reading these sort of threads, the guys with the long lines were great...even with everyone (about 30 w/surfers, 20 kites) [edit - might've been a few less now I think of it, but still packed] negotiating one break. The first time I had to cross under a kite, I was watching his lines thinking 'sh!t, what am I supposed to do here?!' (I'm prob a bit of a kook, not knowing the correct etiquette), wasn't a prob, the lines went up & I passed under, quick thumbs up from me, which was returned & we went on our way.

As for trying tea-bagging, I thought about trying it, and maybe I am too old, but I'm having too much fun pole-dancing to want to try anything else!

Trolls will troll, and it makes for entertaining reading (when the hook is set) - just don't take yourselves too seriously.

Hi flip, I'm a little hesitant to hit at your bait cause I get the feeling ol barn, or shed or what ever that grumpy RSL stalwarts name is had to slip a nitrous pill under his tongue and wash it down with a cheap middy of shandy last night. I'm compelled to correct you on a few things.

I weigh 105kg, my kite quiver is 14m, 12m and 10m, I was amazed when miss Jess (hi jess, where ever you are now) offered me her 5m kite on a super windy, gusty day, and I was lit up on it. A check of seabreeze graphs later revealed there were 50kn gusts in the time I was out.
Kiters can't kite gusts and over 25kn - BUSTED!

Who, except inconsiderate people, are selfish enough to dangerously whiz in and out of the public trying to enjoy a peaceful day at the seaside, especially considering the amount of coastline we enjoy here in Australia. Does this attitude indicate windsurfers lack not only humour, but consideration also? - PLAUSIBLE.

Kiters can kite any strong enough wind. Yep, unless a kiter is very confident, foolhardy, inexperienced or has a chase craft, offshores aren't a great idea. - PLAUSIBLE.

Mostly there is some where to launch remote from the beach, and walk down with the kite in the air. - BUSTED!

As for the girls, who knows, maybe they don't want to do the old thing their fathers did, maybe the new thing appeals, maybe young fit kiters with their own hair are more attractive than, well, the alternative, I don't know. When you work out why women and girls do what they do, may I suggest you keep it to yourself until you have written a book about it, then retire on your billions.

It's ok mate, don't get up from the table and get the manager to escort me out, I've had a cheap schooner, a complimentary cheese bickie, dropped five in the pokies and I'm on my way.

Hmm, where to begin.
Chronolgically you may be younger than me, mentally your thought patterns seem old and rigid, emotionally you display vast immaturity.

Been kiting 3 years, surfing 37, what ever that classifies me as. If I'm a 'noob', I'm unabashed about it.

I do think kiting is awesome. I suspect you think windsurfing is awesome, by your assessment does that make your 'bile' old hat?

Yep trolled a little, just a bit of fun, see above re fun.

At lots of places I kite, one in particular, there are more often than not, many people of all ages and sexes watching, commenting favourably and photographing kiters.
When I'm setting up, in between sessions, or unable to kite due to other commitments, I'm an impressed spectator too. Not many windsurfers up this way, but if one was out there having a good time and being spectacular, I'd enjoy watching him too.
Almost every time we kite this spot, people are all over us as we walk back to the cars, curious about the gear, learning, cost, techniques etc.

If you can possibly be honest with yourself, you'll acknowledge that you watch the kites also. Whether you like it or not, it's relatively new, novel and a spectacle.

As for calling me 'Dickward', and I believe 'Twat' in an earlier post, once again, you display your immaturity in being unable to separate the situation and discussion from the person. You gotta learn to play the ball and not the man.

I can guarantee you, you would not call me either to my face. Add cowardly bully to your personal traits.

He was also the father of Burt Ward who played Robin in the Batman TV series during the 1960's
