There is such a thing as having too much gear... I've been selling mine off, and the closer I get to the magic number (1 board, 1 mast, 1 boom and 2 sails) the better I feel...

People managed with that amount of gear for around 12 years.
Personally I will aim for two boards, two masts and four sails. I just spent $10K on a 4wd van so I don't have any money left to fill it with kit.
Since I'm a beach bum with no vehicle and no fixed address, I need to be able to carry my entire quiver from time to time, at least from airport to the bus, from the bus to the hotel, etc... yeah I wouldn't mind having 2 boards on hand but it'd never work out!!
and did you sell 4 of the boards?
