will get up my new toys as soon as they hit the shop. got a couple of new sails a new mast and a new board coming.

I dunno, Gestalt's old gear has made me a better sailor. I noticed immediately post millenium sails are about 100% more stable than my previous early 90's sail. Makes progressing easier, faster, more enjoyable.

(I'd put in a humorous photoshopped pic of me forward-looping in my swimming pool or bathtub, but some bastard stole my laptop, from my house, while my wife was upstairs! Not so afraid of sharks anymore.)

can I ask why do you guys all have so many boards and sails? We average 2 boards 2 sails only over here in singapore

Another reason is that our homes are bigger and we can fit in too much ** that we don't really need. My sister-in-law in Singapore would not smile on 4 boards and all the accroutrements, and she has more room than the average HDB flat.

the new jp's - i don't think theres any carbon in them, apparently its all technora/kevlar or wood

yeah that too...I have a board stored on my balcony, that is about to become a stepping plank.

We store most of our gear at a windsurfing club located by the beach.

There is such a thing as having too much gear... I've been selling mine off, and the closer I get to the magic number (1 board, 1 mast, 1 boom and 2 sails) the better I feel...

People managed with that amount of gear for around 12 years.

Personally I will aim for two boards, two masts and four sails. I just spent $10K on a 4wd van so I don't have any money left to fill it with kit.

No worries but after seeing pictures of peoples' quivers I thought you were serious.

except ( sniffles ) the stringers in the bottom are starting to show through the bottom plastic skin and its getting soft on the bottom. im waiting for it to fold up on me

My old F2 Sputnik Speed and Gybe edition popped up at second wind for $150; Great buy for a beginner....

My brother bought a Tiga 285 (not sure of literage) years back when he was starting out for next to nothing. Came with a whole heap or extras aswell. It's still worth bugga all but you would never get what it's worth to us now days. It's the same with my dads old TC Beacher and others old boards. You would never get what they are worth to you. Both boards still in mint condition and i still like sailing both of them when i get around to it. I got an old yellow 'Wind Energy' fiberglass wave board aswell that came from the stone age i reckon. Yet to sail it because theres no more room on the ute but i'm sure i will some day. However it's on its last legs and will probably delaminate within a couple sails.
