well done to conner, sam and starboard.

pleased for kelly

looks like some sup companies have some decisions to make the way starboard are leading the pack

why? based on one race?

nope check some results os and locally- girls included

ahh the never ending search....with TG on C4, Danny on 404 and JM on JM/surftech, and all these boards being different, Im sure there wont be a SB world wide domination....but I guess its easily to blame equipment than look within, hell i could get 10 different customs and still never surf as good as Bingo

husq, the 25"wide 14' ace is a deadset machine. thats what 'they' the competitive paddlers are saying.

there is an aversion to going inside boards canoe style. wrong or right, starbies are leading the way. i'm suggest it's decision time for other companies sooner than later.

btw i would like to have a go on one to see what the who har is about

cheers

Nevertheless, it has been a pretty good day for Starboard, coming in 1st, 2nd and 4th in Men's 14', 1st in Men's 12'6" and 1st in Women's. Fair to say that today's conditions suited Starboard designs.

Jacko was unwell, no chance I'd be anywhere near him usually even on a bigger board.

Well that was one tough day on the ocean! Everyone who had a crack at it deserves congratulations!
Big props to Sam putting up a good battle against Connor for most of the race and finishing in a strong 2nd place.
Also congrats to Annabelle for winning the ladies and Lincoln for the 12'6 class!

Thanks Mark, Terrene and I had a great battle for most of the race, neck and neck until within the last km, but she proved the much stronger paddler on the day and pulled ahead with 500m to go. Pretty good for someone who's been paddling less than a year. Also, great to see 5 girls on the start line for a marathon race like this!

Yep good effort by all no matter where you finished.

It would have been a very physically and mentally challenging paddle with the conditions as they were.

I saw you cross the finish line Ali and could see that you were totally spent and had nothing left in the tank (and you definitely weren't on your own), awesome effort.

This race shows so much promise it just needs the wind which is usually always here!! every one who paddled yesterday did really well and should be stoked for finishing a tough race and for the guys pushing hard out the front I'm sure they are hurting a bit today!! I know lots of lessons have been learnt with this race. Well down to all the winners it would have been tough in infront.

Jacko, what is the post race feeling among the people who raced regarding the PFD requirement? I understand the organisers ruled out inflatable PFDs this year. What effect did the PFD have in the heat of the race? Do the benefits outweigh the heat issues?
