Speak up or shut up. Giving a green thumb to someone for a good comment or post is constructive reinforcement. A red thumb say's nothing and gives no alternate point of view to the other side of a discussion. No red thumbs.

I'm confused (yeah so what's new).

Do give Laurie a green thumb if I want red thumbs back or a red thumb if I don't want red thumbs back?

Bring back the biff! I mean red thumbs!

No to red thumbs for mine Laurie. Its a much better place without them

It grated when people who put heaps into the forum got multiple red thumbs regardless of the post.

The forum was starting to feel a bit like this

If they are so meaningless, why are you so eager to bring them back?

I've been around here longer than most i've seen the way the site has developed.
+ing or -ing posts was the next logical step
What i think doesn't matter really.

May i suggest that perhaps the 5 posters who have posted the most on the SUP forum be asked their opinion - DJ has been noticeably absent from these threads - then they make the red thumb decision?

I'd like to see red brought back if not then get rid of thumbs all together.

seriously, why should anyone listen to a guy who hates sups and his best work is to continously post a red thumb, a donkey in a boat and two old bitties on sups in a swimming pool.

personally, i think its ok to have you around, but i don't think you have any right to make a call on a forum who's subject matter you hate.

I generally post light hearted stuff that to me is funny and other people get the joke. And generally thats all it is and if ya cant handle red thumbs and a bit light hearted mucking around, well it maybe time you left?

Short answer...Yes to red thumbs

You know, Laurie asked for a simple yes or no but I feel compelled to state the obvious. What is it with you people that you can't give a simple answer. FFS the other post about red thumbs contained enough drivel without this one going the same way. It's a public forum for christ's sake. Bring back the red thumbs so I can disgree with someone's post without having to go into a long diatribe why I disagree. And that's the point; I am simply disagreeing not hanging s..t or bagging someone. Just about every post I was red thumbed...couldn't give a rats arse to be honest.

also - a 3 post per day policy - to stem the

who really need to get a life (red thumb that!)

and shoot / ban anyone with over 595 posts

and a 1 week ban for spelelling errors.

2 week ban for the misuse of "of" and "have"
3 week ban for "there" and "their"

and finally
- a breathalyser attached to every keyboard to stop "drink posting"

I've enjoyed all your post thus far however if the forum was to be conducted under the above rules,it would make you guy's the laughing stock.

Why do you guy's take this forum so serious. So many forums on this site are a take p-ss type.

Why is it that the sup forum is the only one without them too many princesses maybe, attacks from industry insiders are you ****in serious, really some of you people need to go outside shake yourself and step back into the real world.

If you cant handle the fact that someone thinks your post is crap and red thumbs you big ****in deal. This forum and some of the regular posters take them self wayyyy to seriously.Maybe Laruie should put in a tecno hug so anyone affended with a high red thumb count can have there ego stroked back with a nice little huggy!

laurie has confirmed iNdustry was involved beersup.

my last say on this subject. i really don't think anyone gets upset for themselfs much. it's more of a case why- me or the subject or the board, the reply, whatever

why not have thumbs for the post and then RED Or GREEN THUMBS FOR THE POSTER

ie i post a photo of a board, someone could green thumb the board, but go i hate that guy, i'll give him another red thumb next to his name

i could go with that- its the unknown that bugs me
