In WA at the moment there are a few threads running on FB about the same issue and I could feel the tension on the water last night. It's a shame people use the word "HATE" so openly within a public arena, I HATE terrorists not other water users, I class other water users as friends, yes all of them. Anyways I surf, sup, kite even used to windsurf years ago so see all angles of the argument. Too be honest water sports are getting more popular with more people on the water, fact, we can't change that and won't be able to influence the future. If I SUP I get dropped in by longboarders, shortboarders, other SUP's. If I surf I get dropped in by longboarders, shortboarders, other SUP's see where this is going. I don't shout and scream like a four year old retard. If the rider is reckless and endangering other water users I will have a quiet word, often they don't even realise what they have done and are quite apologetic, sometimes they ignore me ! Things will get worse and with the introduction of foil surfboards and SUP's to the line-up I guess there will be a new target to "HATE". These boys will be picking up waves far outside and have priority, I am sure you won't want to drop in on one of those floating guillotines.
Ah Rossall nicely put mate
Should be equal on the water
Today Im surfing In Bali sitting out the back with 4 or 5 short boarders , we are all sharing the waves
Funny thing is they are bagging out all the other short boarders and longboarders sitting on the inside
I just had a laugh to myself and thought at least Im not the enemy today
Life is good , share to stoke and smile once in a while
