Me and my young bloke have entered, nice and close to home and pretty cheap for 2 events each. Hoping some of the crew from QLD and VIC make the trip. The beachie can get quite a good wave and cops any available swell.

We are brushing the Sat DW for the sat kid's sport thing though.

They didn't end up running a Victorian event so I don't think anyone from down here has qualified.


Same with wa, but I have been told by SUPA that there is no need for qualification and that it is open to anyone. Having said that I'm looking at coming over for the weekend, should be good fun.

Even if it's half as well run as the SUPA States it'll be a great event. Can't wait. Not sure I can do the 4 days but will be there for the Saturday for sure.

Yep, I'm in - Open Surfing, 14' Downwind and 12'6" Short Course Flat.

Should be good fun. Hoping there is no wind on Thu and Fri then howling on Sat and glassy again on Sun. Not asking too much am I? They have got lots of options for all wind directions for the downwinder (except may dead East or West).

You're in for a treat boys, throsby creek is a great bit of water, but the
positive is the wind can be howling and it will be protected. Especially up where that course is.


Best bet would be a few waves on thurs and Friday then a southerly change on Friday night and run the DW from blackies to redhead. Bit off east would probably help.

Yep I'm in, as Casso said hoping for some great Newcastle waves Thu Fri, Then a howling NE Sat & nice & calm Sunday.
The Downwind course will be great & we have a few options depending on the wind direction.

Any. Heads up on good cheap places to stay in newy? There dosnt seem to be a caravan park here by? Not sure I could be wrong?

Na mate, no caravan park close to town, one at Stockton and one at Blacsmiths. ( about 20 minute drive to Dixon park)

If you want to be closer your Best bet is a hotel. Other suggestions... Could try a local pub

Maybe stay at the beaches hotel, think they still have rooms. Probably the closet to the surfing

Other than that, Carrington place hotel is close to the shortcourse stuff.

You said the beers good so may as well stay in a pub .
