I am with you peter mac, the minute free speech is removed then we live in fear for having alternative views and our culture and thoughts are sanitized to have to agree with consensus, nah the surf culture was founded on bohemian ideals and there in lies why we surf

im with you mate, well said. people on here seem to enjoy having a cry about what has been posted without really understanding what they have read. such as my post about sup people being wankers. got attacked personally , thought it was funny how stupid people are to make assumptions that they did about me. play nice people or take it to the carpark. thank god we are all not the same,i would hate to know me

I can't believe how much the SUP forum has gone downhill lately. Thread after thread of petty denigrating of other's opinions. I for one agree with Legion's drop in comments and so what if he rides a shorty...get over it. If your stupid enough to fall hook, line and sinker for the bait you've only got yourself to blame. As for Doggie, well he has contributed positively at times on this forum. It's meant to be fun and informative; we should value other peoples input and not get into slanging matches that do no good but foster bad feelings.

Ok, so now get stuck into me...have a good day all

I agree Pete. But weren't you having a great a "slang off" with a certain Roller Derby Chick a while back !!?? All in good fun (mainly!).

We all live and learn... I've learnt a few things from posting here...

Oh God you're a clubby for 15 whole years-so you know how a wave breaks? All that watching I guess?

yep, watching kooks like you paddle out get clipped by another board and then drag you in, happens every week

Ouch-like I said-all that watching, and taking bait.

Yeah I was, but I was the one who was being called unsavory names. Douch bag if I remember correctly. Learnt my lesson on that one and that is why I haven't posted since.

It makes me wonder; all this talk of aloha but at times not much practised on this forum or from what I've seen on the water. Time for a lot of SUPers to practice what they preach and quit the BS. SUP is a great sport that has its place on the water but when I read and see some of the pics and videos here I really do have to wonder about the legitamacy of the aloha spirit commonly espoused in this forum.

I have to say that apart from a few individuals I have not encountered the 'friendly SUP community' that is supposed to exist but in reality falls far short of that ideal.

I check this forum everyday to find out what's new but try not to comment or post pics because of the ridicule levelled at posters at times. It's just not worth my time or energy.

Haven't been on a SUP for about 18 months now, going to give it a shot in the morning due to the almost non existant wave forecast. Maybe I'll rediscover what got me into it in the first place otherwise there will be four SUPs for sale and I'll happily continue surfing my other boards which have given me too many years to remember of fun.

Rant over

Leave me out of this...**** stirer.....Apologies if i caused any offence to any other breezers in the past which may have resulted in hurt feelings, complex's, and all other manner of bad vibes...i will also apolgies for my BAD spelling, punctuation, un-savouryness, un-ladylike behaviour, and several other un-mentionables... and im sure, like the rest of you, i am actually a very nice, well adjusted person, i just get passionate about the things i beleive in

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend...make the most of the beautiful Autum sunrises, salt water, and surf xo

Simple if people have something to say,let them go for it both negative and positive!
There are the brand cheer leaders at times which is a laugh. There are the comedians which bring life to this sometimes boring forum. There are the pioneers, there are good and bad stand up'ers, there are the want to be's and there are the industry people all entitled to say it as it is without fear.
The sooner Laurie brings back the red thumb tag the better things will be,people can vote in favor but you can't vote against wt? Its either both red and green or none!

Hope everyone has a great day and heaps of action in and out of the water,as one industry slogan states, Life's Better when you Surf and thats exactly where Im'm heading now

Personally love all sides of the spectrum. I think the administrator here stands on the side and lets things playout very well. I commend you for this unlike some other forums.....
Color is always good and if we all liked the same color this place would be boring.

Cheers B. My role has never been to "run" the forum. It's always been "the peoples" place, and I'm here to help should it get out of hand.

Just like in a pub - in a great pub, we all know the owner. Occasionally we seem to him or his staff toss out the unruly element, or have a chat with them, to help keep a good vibe about the place, because ultimately we all just want to have a good time & talk with friends.

Share the stoke, share your knowledge, not be subjected to too much advertising, and generally have a good, interesting, possibly eventful, time. Too easy.

My two cents, Seabreeze is like a bar with a bunch of people having a pleasant conversation and playing a little pool. If you are having a quiet night in a bar with friends the last thing you should have to put up with is pissed blokes from the bucks night in the next room telling you what a pack of wankers you are.

Posting wars are rarely vigorous debate. It's usually just two pissed blokes blathering at each other and spilling their drinks all over the place.

I visit another forum that has a karma system against posts. If you get too much negative karma relative to your positive karma you are automatically sin-binned. You can't post for a while until your negatives expire. That is real time democracy.

If there is such a thing as too much self analysis then that's where the seabreeze sup forum probably is right now.

Topic after topic seems to be along the lines of this is boring, it's dull, nothing interesting posted here anymore blah, blah, blah f'ckn blah.

So there you go guys - the sup forum is suffering a mid life crisis too.

An idea struck me on the weekend.

I'm going to buy a hiace van - put black carpet on the walls and roof. Then I'm going to get one of those comfy mattresses - you know those expensive latex memory ones, that are good for your back, and heaps of soft pillows. Then I'm going to drive it to Johanna and just camp there for a week or two and ride this all out. If the conditions are crap then I'll just drive West to the next town. The only thing I'll bring with me is soft toilet paper, I'll use visa for everything else and I won't charge my phone - I just can't be bothered with anything or anyone.

Get stuffed!

I'd personally like to see the red thumbs come back.

I used to find it funny reading posters complaining about getting them to the very same people that gave them the red thumbs in the first place.

Most entertaining.
