Dale, yeah super close now, should have finished by now but work has been too busy lately. Glassing is done, just some sanding and finish coat and paint to go. The pic below looks a bit scetchy but I think it's the phone camera. I'm stoked the way it is coming together! edit...You can see the PVC deck patch, it is solid as a rock!

Dogman, ramp is 16ft wide and 3 1/2' high. It has 8' of flat and trannies are 5ft radius.
Such a fun ramp, big enough to shred and small enough for friends to learn how to skate. The ramp in the office is better, 4ft x 16ft and surfaced with MDF.

Finish coat on bottom now done. I ran into some problems,
- 1 being I didn't wrap the rails enough when I glassed the top and accidently sanded through to foam on the bottom rail edge so had to re-glass 2 small areas
- 2, I started sanding after glassing the top a bit too early and the resin hadn't fully set. It seemed to clog the paper and make a resin mess on the rails. It felt dry!

So it ain't going to turn out as good as I was hoping but I think it will still work fine. Lucky I have a back-up blank ready to be shaped. I have already learnt sooooo much the next one should turn out amazing.

Not exactly "surf shape" but came from the same shed and at least mine has hit the water!! Little 9' flat water down-winder thingy, actually works quite well. Has some glide, a little tippy but catches little runners super easy. Didn't quite have time to finish before I had to pack it up and stick it on the plane to Port Douglas for the school hols. Did a double run up 4 mile beach this morning, starting early, warm warm water, fantastic. Hopefully the breeze will kick in this arvo and I can try a little down-winder.

Certainly learnt a few things making this baby. Like Brendan I'm busting to make the next one now. Didn't actually have time to finish this properly, it isn't painted yet, no grip yet (wax) and we ran out of pigment so only about half the board ended up with pigment - has this weird camo look! Still works though...

I think for these early attempts you need to revel in the funkiness and imperfections. Think of it as a prototype on the way to something better.

Yeah thats how I'm trying to treat it Gorgo. But I keep thinking I'm going to have this amazing board at the end of all this. At least I think it will surf well.

JC, your board came up well. Finished it will be a little gem.
P.s. the shed is still in one piece!

Also some feedback from people,
- Should I finish coat all the top or just the parts that won't be covered by grip?
I want to lightly sugar deck the nose.

Rails and top are painted and gripped. I'll do a basic spray and sugar deck the nose tomorrow night.
I'm going to run it as a single fin first then put the side fin boxes in and see how it goes different.

I don't have a photo myself but here is one of DJ's from today.

Finally finished. I surfed it as a single fin and I was getting no drive off the bottom at all in solid 3 to 4ft, so I put in some side fins. It rides like a different board. I'm stoked. In the small waves we had today if I had some face to work i could get speed and turn it on a dime. Stability is still blowing my mind, means I can go narrower and thinner next time!

Not stoked on the spray though, but I've seen worse i guess.

I reckon the spray looks good. I was looking at that photo in the other thread and thinking " what brand is that? Haven't seen them before" It didn't even occur to me it was home made. So you've done a good job. Well done.
