Have had the fanatic 14 and 12/6 and the dale chapman 14and12/6 leaves them for dead both flat and down wind the production boards seam to have a a bit harder Finnish So maybe can take a few knocks more just don't let your custom DC to a novice paddler = rail damage
The best thing AUSSIE made 100% not some young guy working for 2 bucks a day in a factories
In Asia

I have paddled all these boards as well and am thinking the paddler on top of the board will be the difference, so not sure what you are smoking to say one would leave the other for dead!! All good boards yes DC is made in aus and they are going very good and dale is doing a good job but you might be surprised how much Aussie goes in to the fanatic boards these days as well!! By the where does the resin and glass and stuff come from these days to make most of the boards these days? The Aussie made thing is such a wank!!! Look around your house and tell me what is made here!! I had a guy in the shop and he would not buy a leg rope that was made overseas so I said good luck swimming for your board!!I love supporting stuff that is made here as much as the next guy but the truth is that if these guys want to make a living then stuff sometimes has to go off shore and if you think dale wouldn't take his boards to chaina if he could you are kidding your self. The guys people should be getting pissed at are the ones who go to china and bring back siht and under cut the whole market and stuff it for everyone they are the ones screwing the local shapers!!! sorry rant over, time to get in to my suit!!

Totally agree jacko.
After recently competing in a long distance race, with a wide range of board models participating. It was quite evident that board choice wasn't the only thing that decided the placings.
Sure the starboard ace went well but, D Ching and his clapped out old board was pretty fast.

The motor ontop definately makes a difference.

Santa brought my DC14 a few weeks before Christmas. I demo'd a few other 14's and 12'6'' boards such as Fanatic and Naish prior to ordering. I am not an expert paddler, so have limited qualifications as a judge. As I didn't want to race, the 30" width became the clincher, wanting to be less tippy.
I have now used it on the harbour, the lake and in tiny surf. It catches every runner and boat wake in sight on the flat water. It is unreal fun on high tide micro waves and "surfs" much better than I thought it would.
In short, I couldn't be happier. The DC probably isn't as well finished as the others ie no gloss coat, but I got it to ride, not to look at.

Those are some pretty big calls ... I think everyone likes a different feel of a board and are looking for something different in a board so ,one mans at the moment best board ever is and could be another mans pig! That is why there are so many different shapes and styles of boards out there and we are the lucky ones who benefit from this let's just hope you have your at the moment fav board under your feet!!
If not I hope you all find it

Thanks everyone for your comments , critic and advice .

I,m not into racing , just paddling / surfing for fun .

The engine on top of the boards is pretty well rooted , therefore the sniffing out of the best gliding all round DW upwind magic carpet ride .

I know all you paddling machines out there can win races on hollow core doors if you want to .
Me ! I need all the help I can get !!!!

As for the debate about local board verses Asian pop out ...... I,m as guilty as anyone , for buying on price , but if it's a local product ,and the price and quality is close or better, then go the local I recon .

Cheers and enjoy the holiday season .
