Hey Jonesy,

The turning buoys will be set approximately 50mtrs straight out from the start line and the same from the finish line. Marine Services Department and GCCC Life Guard Service has advised us not to have a turning can outside any of the creek mouths. So once rounding the buoys, you can make your own line in and out of both creek entrances to suit you.
And this is also the reason for a time staggered start as both the authorities seem to think that we may choke the Alley if we started everyone together.
All race rules and course advice will be in the race briefing before the start of the race!
Beer is on ice too Jonesy!

What a fantastic day of racing on the Gold Coast!!! With 90 registrations, 87 starters and 86 finishers (+1 broken paddle), today's Creek to Creek was definately the biggest standalone SUP race this country has ever seen and a great sign for the future of the sport.

I'd just like to say thankyou to all the paddlers who turned out to support the race, every one of you is helping to build the sport and i'm sure the rest of the SUPSA committee will agree that a massive part of the success of this (and other) events is due to the participants and their families/friends turning out to support the race!

Also HUGE thankyou to SUPSA President Troy Pease (aka. Peasey) who has worked tirelessly to put this event together, by raising sponsorship, setting up an innovative new race format, organising race logistics and everything else! I think every paddler really appreciates your efforts!

Also to Pete Dorries, Mike Manning, Tallebudgera Surf Club (IRB) and Gold Coast City Council Lifeguard Services (Kelly & Mick on the Jet Ski's) thanks for providing water support for the day and making sure all the paddlers made it safely to the finish.

I don't have the full list of sponsors (so sorry to any i've missed) but thanks to Auswind (Starboard Sup Australia), Kahuna Street Sup, Five & a Half Eyeware, Roar Industries, Supworld Magazine, Balin, Quantum Coaching & Supracer for supporting us.

Congratulations to all the winners and most of all to everyone who entered and completed their first race - you're all champions.

I can't wait until the next SUPSA race!!!

sick race. loved the new race format, although im not much of a chaser. big thanks to all the organizers and all the competitors that came and made it an awesome event.

couldnt believe how fast jacko flew past me, great effort!!

Peasy, didnt i say you would smash me if we were both on the same boards!!

i guess this format is a good test for peoples self motivation/drive cause you dont know how fast everyone else is going so you have to be at your max the whole time.

cant wait for the next race!!

Thanks from the Sunny Coasters, we all enjoyed the race, the crowd, the course and thought the organisers managed well with the massive turn out. I couldn't believe the prizes donated and the fact they were all randon draws, good initiative.
Great work, loved the staggered start, will be back next year.
Need a coaching team up here to get us into gear and more competitive.

And I didn't even have a say in how the times were adjusted! I would have given it another few minutes on top of the 1 second if I did!

Thanks to all the Sunny Coast guys and girls for driving down the east for the event. The competition is certainly starting to heat up between the two Coast's!

I'm basically a Cowboy as JT did play for the Dog's once upon a time!

Gr8 effort on the weekend too Chambs. The call of redraw after your name was drawn for one of the prizes didn't come quick enough. And that was from your crew! haha

That's a hard one as nearly every brand board was there!! Maybe someone could list what the top 3-5 in each division were on?

I would say QB was the most used paddle.

Not sure if that would be appropriate as not all the boards are available for the general public to buy
