Finally, you worked it out.
Honestly really though. Here's a conversation for you. Murray Bourton, legend surfboard designer, shaper of all sorts, all round legend and personal friend of mine. Casual paddler on SUP. He is checking out my Woody Jack and says......... wait for it. "Geez, it's just a blown up shortboard isnt it??" My wife sees Jackson closes McT and says wow, that's a big McTavish Carver. She doesnt even surf but she can even see that people are just blowing things up.
If it looks like a shortboard and surfs like one than what is it? Call it pigheaded but Mals are Mals, if a board has more nose rocker than tail, hard edges that roll to soft right in front of the fins and have a single double concave it's a shortboard to me. Just to clarify though, a shortboard these days really isnt just a pointy nosed 6'2 x 18 1/4 rounded square, take a look around, weird stuff is happening.
This subject is like spanking the monkey with a cheese grater; slightly amusing, mostly painful.
You guys just like to think your re-inventing the wheel, you don't even need to.......
